Its been that way forever, My first dread I lost in 2006, was with 400 in local with no aggression timer and RA probing out dreads with emergecy warp on cyno in. I should have disappeared after 30 seconds, but the lag made the **** stuck somehow. Either way I got the same response years ago. In a sense I can see how they cant verify it when 500 ships exploded in 4 hours, however they designed the system to encourage the 700 people in local fights.
That fight in k25 was the first time tho, Ive seen 100 caps go invisible after cynoing for 20 min, man that had to be a blue ball moment. Capacitor went down, session timer happened, it went away, and anyone that discoed became lockable again. But those that were killed that way, I think all got insurance isk, and thier ships appeared after relogging in dest system with no structure or armor or shields left, and no loss mail. Very wierd stuff with dominion. Pretty much when stuff like this happens it sucks for both sides. Very hard for an FC to deal with stuff that doesnt make any sense, and has no precedence within the games rules or mechanics. I think 1-2 were lag stuck in siege tho, and they did die, and generated mails.
Either way, I wouldnt want to see either side of any fight have to deal with lag like this, it really takes away from the fun of the game. Pretty sure Tri and freinds vs MM and friends are going thru the same thing. Im sure IT VS SPLOTGoons are too. One of the biggest issues we didnt even have to deal with yet, is that fact that you can manually set reinforced timers for your absolute best blob participation timezone before your system is even reinforced. So I think this is only going to get worse before it gets better. And ccp blaming it on our gaming rigs is a joke, not when everyone in the fleet has the same issue, and the only thing we all have in common is we play eve on tranq server. All the gaming rigs are different, and some are ridiculous, and most are avg, and some are terrible. Pretty much that response you got is a complete joke, and shame on CCP for passing this issue off on the player.
