Hi guys, I have a quick question for you.
I was running around can flipping in order to get aggression rights for my corp... even when I'm successful and the miner shoots back / flips the can back, I get the kill rights, but my corp doesn't... are there any special rules regarding noob characters / characters that just joined a corp which prevents my corp mates to get the aggression rights as well?
It's just as follows: I can flip Miner Miner shoots me I get kill rights Mates warp in They don't have kill rights :-\
I just created my character and I just joined the corp... that's the only two things I can think of that can generate this issue... any ideas?

Edited by: James Tritanius on 21/12/2009 23:09:26 Short answer:
Your corpmates can only attack the miner if he takes his ore back from your can. If he shoots you, your corpmates can't attack him.
Edit: Further clarification upon the short answer: the length of time you are in your corp does not factor into this at all.

TBH I think canflippers are New Eden's dumb fat kid eating the glue in the back of the class, or stealing kids lunch money in the playground then crying up a frenzy when knocked on their ass. But I think you're just marginally more tolerable than bears, so I'll help you out:
1) You must get the bear to reflip/steal from your can; now they've stolen from your corp, anyone may shoot.
2) Get your corp mates to RR you in the hope that the bears shoot your (now red) corpies
But seriously, get some imagination.

I bolded and underlined the definition that I agree with.

Yeah I know, I'm just trying to understand this mechanic, I'm not going to canflip permanently, we just gave it a shot and we were wondering about the mechanics.
Thanks for the replies!

Nothing wrong with canflipping. Don't let the nullsec elitists and highsec carebears stop you.

I used to bait can flippers.. Hulk, 3 strip miners, PvP hardened shields and a point.. Full rack of T2 drones with maxed skills... Neut RR on standby..
Would you like to know what happened?? I mined for 4 hours is what happened... I ended up using my alt to haul the ore away because if having a hulk in an almost empty belt with half a dozen jetcans floating around doesn't scream GANK ME! I don't know what does...
Sold the hulk when I docked... Never again..

This damnit, right now I'm sorta in between "careers" and quite bored and have actually been doing missions /puke, so when I found a Paxton Fed flipper baiting op 3 days ago in Amarr (they had all kinds of cool ships including a Legion with a "please kill me" sign) I couldn't resist, end result was them losing 2 ships to me, I just missed out on a navy slicer due to me messing up the timers.
So my fire was relight so to speak, I made a ****offsprey and dropped named cans, had a hauler alt with passive targeter and ship scanner and started mining, in various systems and times... NOTHING! One 5 day old guy in a Sigil tried, didn't make it past step 1 and then immediately logged. But apart from that one nothing at all, I tried Amarr, domain, caldari space... just nothing. It's a disgrace really.

I think outright suicide ganking is the trend these days....especially with the mineral market being held up by insurance.
I've only been flipped once at an ice belt...apparently he didn't enjoy my flight of light drones and ran off. If only I had a point. On another note, I also have an annoying sig.

Ahhh can flipping. Takes me back to my Battle Badger days. Too bad I haven't been able to go to high sec with this character for 3 years now =/. Anyway others have explained so no need for me to. As a professional can flipper myself, I can vouch for the fact that it can be a real pain in the rear to get them to reflip the can, or even aggress. I have managed, however, to get Hulks to shoot at my battlecruisers, so there are some trigger-happy morons out there you can make millions off of.
My record is still popping some idiot's Hulk only to have him come back in a failfit Dominix that was using an X-Type large shield booster. That earned me a pretty penny on the market.
