...but nothing back yet. This is something i'm not willing to discuss over an open forum but i can't think where else to go to ask how long i should wait for a reply. Any suggestions?
Inb4 standard bs/trolls/etc etc ad nauseum - looking for actual adults with actually useful responses (a tough ask, i know) please :) |

You are asking the users of an internet spaceship forum how long it will take a company who none of us work for, how long they will take to reply to an unknown 'super secret' proposal you sent them.

If your "RL Business Proposal" was structured, worded, and as well thought out as your inquiry to its status is, I would imagine that it is posted on their wall of shame somewhere.

That is exactly my thoughts on it. And even if it was actually done well this thread more or less just shot it out of the water as it is displaying a bit...less than professional attitude. OP should have taken the initiative and contacted whoever they sent the information to last time and ask for an update and possibly a video conference to explain their proposal.

Instead of e-mailing them, I called but got the message that "your business idea is important to us" recording followed by being put on hold and listening to Bjork music for 6 hours. I think they might be interested, so I'll try again tomorrow..... |

Do you know how to format actual business correspondence? You know, a letter? I don't think "Inb4" and such will cut it. Are you a business with letterhead? Whom did you the letter to?

If what you sent is a game design or game idea, most game developers won't even read it. Because their lawyers tell them not to. Because:
-For game developing companies, there's some 1 in a million chance they were already thinking of a similar idea. Or a chance that they might potentially think of a similar idea in the future.
-If they go forward with developing the game design, you could bring a suit against them, alleging copyright infringement/IP theft. Saying that it was your idea, and they stole it. So in effect, if they read an unsolicited game design, the company is limiting its ability to ever develop a game anything like that game design.
Some companies will read an outside party's game design, if there's a Nondisclosure Agreement in place first. But getting an NDA is tough. "I, outside party you do not know, ask you to legally promise not to disclose what I'm going to tell you. What am I going to tell you? I can't tell you that. Unless you sign an NDA."
If you weren't wanting to discuss a game design, then ignore the above. : )
