I've been trying to buy slots in my region for like 4 days now and every 'WTB slots' in the Trade channel has been ignored.
What I would like is the name of the owner of a slot. That way I could email them to buy the slot or negotiate a trade.
If you wanted to be PIC about it maybe allow me to do some Agent missions and once my Agent is high enough level/influence I could bribe him to get me the name. The Agent could browse/***** a station's computer files to get me the info. Maybe if he fails I get a security hit and am levied a heavy fine for aiding in a crime by CONCORD.

I like it with a couple modifications.
There are reasons it would not work, for instance if you were at war would you want everyone to know WHERE you have your factories? No way!
I'd propose a different solution. Post a top 20 list of the largest (quanity) factory owners in each region. I've become aware of several individuals who purchased entire systems worth of facilities after release (we're talking 5 stations - all facilities). They went into cardiac arrest with the new rates and have had to sell some but they still own many. Let's see who the biggest offenders are.
Another proposition is the "use rental" plan I saw posted. You can only rent it for as long as you need it. Then the BP is ejected to your items bin and the factory is available again.
All this would be a moot point if player stations were in the game. I know several large corporations that are chomping at the bit for this new opportunity. Player stations will eventually be the ONLY game in outer territory space.

The lack of player stations or ways to spread out hurts. Pretty much every station I find is maxed on offices now. Let's face it nobody is going to move a corp to someplace if they can't even open an office. I guess the solution will be declare war and demand someone sacrifice an office on the station where you want one.

You can't release offices...they are paid by the month.

I agree on this. CCP needs to think VERY carefully about their slot policies if they don't want to go against their stated desire for players to expand outwards.
The current plans to implement universe-wide limits on slots will kill expansion, because people will not want to leave their main manufacturing base. I currently maintain a total of 6 slots, 2 beyond my skill to use simultaneously. 3 are in one station, 3 are 25 jumps away. I travel between these two groups of slots occasionally. i.e. all six slots are legitimately used.
A per-region limit on slots would make more sense, *IN ADDITION*, CCP should allow slot owners to sublease slots they are not immediately using. For example, if I'm in corp HQ mining Scord for a few days because I need trit, my slots closer to the outer regions won't be used. I have no problem whatsoever with someone else using those slots, IF I can be guaranteed the ability to regain access to those slots when I move back to the outer regions to mine bistot/gneiss/whatever. (At which point I could sublease the slots back "home" for a while.)
To prevent griefing, subleasing could be limited to 75% of the base rent of the slot, preventing it from becoming a business for the slot owner, just a way to make the slot available for periods of time in return for cutting maintenance costs of the slot by 75%. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Then put in an option to release them.

Imagine that you could rent your slots for an ISK/hour rate...would be nice to have the name of the person so you could maybe ask them to buy the slot???
But yeah...people who hoarde will get a nice bounty on their arses...

I think thats is a great idea to sho who owns it.
Also I think the salution is simple raise the rent to like 250k a week. Then the ones people dont use will be unrented. Cause they dont want to pay. Also realisticly the Megacorps wouldn't want the people renting them to make millions off them. They would raise the price so they made the profit. And if you think this is a high price it is not i can make 250k in 20mins buy mining. Corps and players only really need about 4 slots of each. Not whole stations. so the cost would be fare.

Showing who owns it will at least give you the ability to find who you must pay an arm and a leg for the slot. A better solution is the one job at a time rental.
