Originally by: Herr Wilkus Hmmm. Lets see, Mr. Lunatic. Lets try a little critical thinking here. Try real hard, but I suspect you are just trolling.
1. Find defenseless targets. In nature - do predators attempt to kill the strongest animal in the herd and get kicked in the mouth? No, they attempt to take down the sick and the weak - the find the easiest meal with the least risk of injury. In our society - did pirates historically go toe-to-toe with the Royal Navy? Hell no - they took down (untanked) merchantmen and (high-value) Spanish Galleons, maximum prize with the least effort.
I tend to blow up (untanked) Hulks. They are extremely common, and you can instapop them when they are failtanked. (99% of them) The loot drops are typically poor, and generally on drops/salvage alone, you merely break even.
However, the (untanked) miners lose big time - 200M ISK or more. If you hunt and pop the same (untanked) miners repeatedly, they will eventually either pay - or start (untanked) mining in (untanked) Covetors. What about learning to tank? Apparently for miners, it is just not possible. Slots are exclusively for cargo expanders, mining upgrades and Cap Recharger II's, I suppose.
2. Open fire with no chance of losses. Certainly, with mineral prices at rock bottom prices due to over-production of resources, insurance is broken. The whole point of this proposal is to fix it by driving up mineral values. But I've already covered that one, repeatedly, in detail, with glossy photographs and simple analogies so people like you might grasp the issues.
3. When armed defenders show up, dock up and log off, or whine.
Uh, are we even playing the same game here? Lets walk through this one. First, why would there be armed defenders? Almost all resource gathering in hi-sec is done solo, in pairs, or completely AFK, and did I mention? Always untanked.
Second, the combat generally goes like this - I warp in, shoot once, (untanked) Hulk dies instantly, Concord kills my ship, and I dock up with a GCC, and I scoop the wrecks with an alt. I undock with my new noob-ship, and I give the miner a chance to use his kill rights on me and steal my Civilian Miner and 1 unit of Trit.
Now, where do armed defenders, running and logging off come in here? Why would I possibly hide in station, LOL? 'Armed defenders' are not allowed to shoot at me until I attack, at which point the (untanked) Hulk is already dead and Concord is on the way with the BBQ.
I suppose they could wardec me - but PSST, in case you haven't heard - current wardec mechanics are broken and CCP hasn't bothered to fix them to make carebears more vulnerable. Most gank targets are in NPC corps anyway.
Seriously, is it not possible for you to think and type at the same time, or do you just pretend to play this game? Thanks for the post though - it definately highlights the weakness of the opposing viewpoint.
finally someone that i can agree with --- ccp if u can be arsed reading this then u now know whay miners are gettign fed up of eve and it bias to towards pvp...........eve is not a sandbox anymore but rather pvp online SIG: if my message has spelling errors its cos i fail at typing properly :P |
