My computer started crashing four days ago, I get a BOSD with some stop codes, no files are listed. I can't find the error codes online so I was wondering if someone knew what they were or some place that has them listed.
The codes are listed like this, stop: 0x40000080 (0x8B087130 ox8AB6B8F0 0xB84E78E0 0x00000001)
My setup is this OS - XP Pro SP3 CPU - AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-core Motherboard - GeForce 7050M-M RAM - (2) 2 gig 800MHz sticks NIC - Realtek RTL8169/8110 Video - GeForce GTS 250 HD - Maxtor 6L100M0 (OS) and Seagate ST31000333AS (Temp files and data)
I don't know what is causing the error so I included everything that was in use when the errors happened.
There have been no hardware changes in the last 3 months, the last one was a RAM upgrade, I ran memtest for 48 hours when I was installing them and got no errors.
Please tell me if there is something else I need to include or if I am missing something obvious.
Any help is very appreciated, I am going to keep looking for answers in the meantime. |

Interesting, a quick search yields several network related errors associated with this code: 0x40000080
Well, if it's a card then try to remove it and see if the error occurs. Try to move it to a different slot. Or is it on-board? If so, then disable it. Also, try to refresh your mobo (network) driver.
Just an idea.
Can you reproduce the error? E.g., is there something specific that triggers the error for sure? "Yeah, every time I go for a hamburger and get back the error is there" Just joking.

The NIC is a PCI card, I will try taking it out and using the onboard NIC. I would change PCI slots but the graphics card has a huge heatsink on it and the fan would only have maybe a 1/4" clearance, probably not enough.
The error seems to happen more when I am browsing the internet (with firefox if it matters). I got it while I was typing this reply, had to start over. It has happened five or six times, only one happened when I was not using the network (the game had online multiplayer though). I can not reproduce it when I want though.
I will look for new drivers too
Is there a better place than google to look up these errors? I typed in "stop code errors" and sifted through forty or fifty sites but didn't find anything.
Company just got here so I gotta stop messing with this for a while, thanks for your help. |

Disable the onboard NIC and allocate your IRQ addresses manually. If that doesn't fix the problem then...well.. it just means I don't know how to fix it ______________________________________________

You need to refill the memory fluid in your RAM and check for leaks.
But really, NIC is the problem according to google. Use the on-board one and see if it doesn't stop. If so it's either a defective NIC or something I have no idea about. Other people here deal with computers way more than me.
