Ok people listen up.
For a week now I have been criss-crossing the universe using Worm Holes.
And one thing I see on my D-scanner are ships where the owner has their name as part of the ships name. You all know the drill. "Knucklhead's FailMobile" or something like that.
This is not a good thing to do in WH space. A grief squad can get a lot of intel on you or if you are in there with your corp, a lot of information on the corp too.
And I have seen characters who have been around since 2004 doing this.
Get your names out of those ship labels.
And be advised those core probes you see are mine. Just finding a way home.

When you are in a wormhole corp and you have a lot of ships, it makes it easier to identify the ships on scan quickly if they have names you recognize. Asking "is that your ship?" in corp gets tiresome and wastes precious time.

Come up with a naming system then.

So I can just rename my ship to Tau Cabalander's XXX and then I could gank all your corp mates?
As already mentioned, a good corp naming system is useful, but that as well can be exploited.

Actually I have done that (renamed ships to someone else's name and a different ship type).
Soandso's Newbieship *seems* to get less grief than other ship names. Why would someone bother scanning down a newbie ship that they figure is just passing through?
Not perfect but meh.

You do realize it shows ship type on dscan, right?

Yes, but not combat probe scan unless I am mistaken? I haven't used combat probes yet.

You could try but my name is too long, and if I'm not online it is obvious, and if I am online then seeing two ships is obvious.

Combat probes don't even show what your ship is named. They only show your ship type.
