Grid not loaded but as my modules disappeared it seems I am dead too.
Props go to CCP for a reinforced node which supposedly is able to hold and handle the Jita player amount.

Thanx for a great game. Aint it amazing how we go to a "re-enforced" system, jump in , don't load grid for about 20-30 mins and die to imaginary enemies. Thanx for the dominion love, that allows even BIGGER fleet fights from before.

I spent 1 hour or so to make sure node is reinforced
We then spend 20 mins waiting for the damn grid to load...............

you should be able to do that on a reinforced node on a massive mulitplayer game , ccp are ****ing up as per normal. Its not Atlas's + friends fault the NC died , just as i dont blame them for killing me when we jumped in and i lagged out. CCP need to sort this **** out asap as its effecting all parties involved and ruining the game

The most important feature in Dominion is ... First person or fleet on grid wins .. so basically you need to be quick.

The only way to win is to rapidly assault and go home, since defending any space under siege is clearly impossible in Dominion.
Or maybe you can buy a crystal ball or maybe hire a teller to predict when we are going to have a huge fleet fight and then ask CCP to reinforce the node before the DT .. That was the most important feature in Apocrypha .. wondering what will be the next genius feature for the next patch ..

Everyone else has just accepted the fact that there are limitations to CCP's server performance and accept it / work around it / whatever - maybe you guys should learn from past mistakes and just accept that stuff like that is not possible, and either try to find a way to work around it or just put up with it - posting because you got fisted because of a dumb move won't change anything.

Where the systems get the power they need when needed....
Should be possible to 'borrow' some power from less loaded nodes

Dominion bring more ppl in 0.0 space and waht¦s happend. No fleet fights works. We jumped in totay in a system and about 15 Minutes grid is no loading. and than i wake up in station and have not see on my screen. CCP that doesn¦t work and this bring no fun.

A solar system still can't be powered by more than one server, let alone a grid. So, instead of working with that fact while coding this game, customers are expected to figure out what a system can or can't handle.
Right.
Go fix it ccp, either make lag go away and finally scale fleet combat situations properly, or have mechanisms to avoid players dieing while being out of control. In any case, players shouldn't have to deal with this crap, that's what QA and testers are for.

Exploit:
Get 500 ships in a system. Wait for the ennemy to enter the system. Kill the ennemy, which has absolutely no control over their ship (waiting for grid to load). With no resistance at all, kills are just easy as ABC.

after pass trought the gate, the game just lag and after 3min, shield running low, 1min later armor too, and 1 min later, i was in pod.
3 min later, clone activated.
but betwen the gate and the clone, ABSOLUTLY NO LOADING!!!
so, if CCP can't make a stupid server can bear 100 players, just stop create multiplayer gaming, and just go make stupid games for single players -_-"
we pay for multiplayer game but ccp server can't be used like mutliplayer server.

As for atlas and co, have the balls to fight without exploit. Give the enemy the chance to load grid. Much better fight this way.

Im finding it hard not to laugh about the kings of the blob being blobbed by another blob in a system that didnt load.
When MH did it, it was all fair and just a part of the game mechanics yadda yadda yadda ... now when it happens to them they cry worse than a $10 ho who found she only got paid $5.
However, in saying that, I find my sympathy levels to be totally non-existent and I dont think anyone outside of this little skirmish actually gives a flying f**k.

it would seem that putting SBUs online and reinforcing hubs should indicate that a big fight is going to happen as soon ad teh reinforced timers tick down.
does the server team see these fights and automatically beef up the system ? if not, they should.

How can it happens that the server has enough ressources to calculate and apply damage and not enough ressource to send to its clients their data updates :/
That's really bag programming there... It sould at least wait acknoledgement of client before considering the ship is in system ...

No, I say: work around it, maybe attempt to get people into system in groups smaller than 700 (after all, you did have titans supposedly), or hell, get them into system before it has 400 hostiles in.
I can't fathom the sheer idiocy of jumping 700 into 400 all at the same time KNOWING what has happened the other 6+ times "you" (as an entity, the NC) have done it in the past with dire consequences.

CCP gave us a sandbox to do everything to fight eachother. Doesn't matter when or where.
THAT'S NOT TRUE AND THAT'S THEIR FAULT.
You can't jumpin or do anything without horrible lag when u have more then like 500 people in the target system. Sometimes it hits RZR and friends, sometime ATLAS and friends. It has nothing to do with "we are the best"

I do believe that after u guys had 2 fleets jump through the gate and got wtfpwned we warped to ur grid with the hub (which you already had loaded)and wtfpwn u there . then to top it off we warped back to the gate with bubbles got out of the bubbles and then proceed to give you the can of woop*** there. Sorry to have try to defend a system by getting in 3 hours in advance.
3 hours was clearly not enough. We have already admitted than going in blobbed system doesn't work.
Ha yes... the times we manage to get in in advance give result of crashing node.
Next time we will connect and go to battlefield 6 hours in advance.

CCP won this fight.
Got destroyed and got podded with no visual. Even after I died, the clone station didn't load : I had to relog to be able to play >:(
1 year ago, it was possible to do fights with bigger number than today. A devblog from end 2008 stated that : ½ Interestingly enough, despite missing its heart beat, many players have reported that the performance of this blade with 1000 players was very good in the 10 - 15 minutes prior to its shutdown +. Eventually, it crashed, but at least it was possible to do something.
Today, we nearly returned to the >2 year situation where EVE was a Massive Single-Player Online Game. Within weeks we will see laggy fights with only 100 players like before... It will be worse it is on a reinforced node like tonight.
CCP has to do something. I don't ******* care about their "planets upgrade" who is not so great that expected...

The more I read, the more details are revealed. ATLAS had 400 so you brought 800. I am pretty sure that your Alliance leaders could sell ice to and Eskimo. After the last 10+ times you have jumped into the system you continue to do it. It is pretty much the definition of insane (doing something repeatedly and expecting a different result).

the solution is simple NC, just do some math:
if it takes more than 15 minutes to jump in 700 ships to fight 400 in a system. You need to make sure that when you are jumping your fleet you will have more people AFTER the grid has loaded then your enemy by at least a factor of 2.
doing some extrapolations on past 6 threads about your fleet losses, I would say you would need a fleet of at least 1500 people. Then you should be able to out blob your enemy and get enough "grid loaded" people to fight.
here you go, have fun let us know the results please.

I just don't know anymore... before I jumped in with the entire RZR fleet I've selected remove all brackets in my overview. The grid loaded extremely fast  and lag was minimal . Was it luck? Was it the total bracket remove? I dont know.

It is always confusing to see how easily people surrender their own ability to choose and start looking for someone outside to fix the/their problem. Sure, CCP advertises content in trailers that isn't really true to what the actual game is like and it probably would be in their interest to work on that but you know what? If the server can one day handle 700 people jumping into a system with 400 others already in it, then human mentality will make sure that it will be 1000 jumping into 700 a few weeks later at which point people will start crying again because you will be back at status quo.
If you are tired and annoyed of all the crap that is connected to being in a 2-4000 player alliance then quit it, start something smaller on your own, find new goals or even quit the game if nothing but holding 0.0 territory seems interesting to you. CCP will probably never be able to find a fix for the human sheep mentality other than maybe implement mechanics to prevent people from blobbing up too much. After all, though, it doesn't seem like they are willing to do that. So, eventually it is you people who choose to be in very large alliances, which again are in even larger NAP coalitions so you have to face the consequences. CCP itself will face their consequences for constantly supporting this mentality the day masses of people start to leave the game and not earlier no matter how many threads are created about it.

Yes, ccp has acknowledged that it is an issue. Any fc worth a gang should know better than to jump a 700 man gang into a grid with 400 people on it at the same time. You know it's an issue, lag has always been an issue. How is it such a surprise when it happens EVERY TIME. And why is it *never* an issue when you use it on someone else? Man up, stop crying and play the game maybe.

JB / Cyno & Standard Gate all tried and all lagged the system to death. Atlas (Bobby) were even saying that they titan bridge movements were effected seriously by the current lag .. Hence why CCP are oing these tests on the 5th of Jan. Dominion Sov may have a "billion" RF timers .. but currently it has a "billion" fails.

And another Lol-fail of NC -
Before they bridged in, Y8R local was around 600 with some "-" to us. In the fight, it went to 1150. This defenetly not 700 vs 400.
Please tell more storys like about 50 capital killed. This is defenetly most funny part of the story.
But more accurate numbers will be after SOLAR\ATLAS KB synked.

i think its apparent that the nc isnt actually upset about the lag. my evidence for this is that the nc has NEVER made an effort to diminish lag when it was going to work in their favour. back in the old days they would bring 5-6 times the numbers of smaller entities specifically to ensure than systems would be rendered unplayable and the outcome would be dictated by numbers alone.
so if the ncs problem isnt with the lag (as they claim) then there must be something they are unhappy about given all their posting. i would point to that thing being LOSING!

It has been pretty much common knowledge that a serious lag problem was introduced with Dominion. There are now been a half a dozen posts decrying the woeful state of large scale combat. CCP is even working on it.
So I have to ask, why does the NC keep bashing its head against a wall expecting that this time it won't cave in their skulls?
Skip jumping into them and start taking their systems and moons. You aren't going to have a farts chance in a storm if you keep trying to jump into them. It will merely deplete your ships, kill morale and drive people out of your group. You can always come back and take Geminate, its not like anyone seriously wants it.
But by all means, keep jumping into them and keep coming here starting up stupid threads. They are kind of amusing in a torturing kittens kind of way.

I'm a little confused on definitions. Apparently only nc blobs, but what is a blob exactly? 400 ships has been clearly defined in this thread as "not a blob" and 800 ships has been clearly defined as "a blob". What is the precise threshold of ships that NC can field without being called blobbers? And it can't be less than 400 because that would mean atlas are also blobbers and not uberleet pvpers that have won so many elegant, brilliantly choreographed, perhaps even napoleanesc victories on the fields of geminate.

Hey, at least we got some sweet new moon graphics and some other garbage that only morons appreciate. Literally no new changes should be made to Eve before they fix the way the game handles large ship count battles. None. No new capital changes; no new market changes; no new graphics changes (unless they reduce the massive and debilitating lag problems) etc.

Eve became a numbers game. Bob invented it, and all alliances use it if they can. So stop whining about that. And 700 against 500 doesnt really matter if there is proper FC-ing.

The real issue here isn't one of lag (since that affects us all) but the ineptitude of an NC fleet that decided not to form up in its own station systeem to defend it. Everyone knows how the server responds in these circumstances, yet you chose:
a) The worst possible approach to defending your system (what on EARTH made you think that would work?!)
b) The worst possible way to lose the conflict without looking like bleatting losers. Whining is for winners! Go NC!
Threadnaught all you want, but while you're sobbing into your sleeves the rest of us are laughing at you. Your entire existence in Eve is based on herd mentality politics, and hiding behind numbers and it's only now that it's not working for you that you complain?
It speaks volumes about the way the NC members are told how to think and what to do en masse that so many of you posted here just because your FC told you to. Grow up, and learn how to PVP.

Yes, CCP fix this game. It's a pretty common sight to have jita like conditions in 0.0 systems, NOT!
Perhaps CCP can scale the fights a bit better next time our enemy does a fleet notification. Start with 4-5 reinforcements by default. When we party, we party hard!

Both WI and RZR flees was quickly moving in Y8R, RZR had to bail to a belt to rep up. They got bombed some. The WI fleet was also moving quickly. ME came in with MM and never loaded, probably because the Solar bombsquad warp their cyno and bombed them back to the stone age.
Once the WI/RZR fleets was on the move, they was very uncoordinated. A few skirmishes on the gate, they died horribly and bailed to the safe pos, where they died some more.
The culprit here I think was the MM/ME fleets getting bombed, while everyone was loaded. Which overloaded the node, giving us a lot of time to turkey shoot TCF.
After we had cleaned up the gate, we warped off to the IHub where they bridged in. The grid loaded just fine and guns was back on autofire.

The strategy is clear and everybody knows it. We have to be first in the system !
Let's use this workaround for ever and dont ask to CCP to fix this issue.

It cant be right, that i pay 15Ç p.m. and i get no grid. Eve would like imitate a real world in space, but it dont works. Real world in space means that i can fight, if i want to fight. Therefore i pay 15Ç p.m.
Its the same like a car race without gas.

As a not so pvp oriented char, I must say this is the first blob on caod I have encountered.
The odd thing is that, the reaction to a 0.0 lag issue is to blob the forum.
What do you expect the result of mass post should be? CCP sets there lvl 80 Paladin to work?
I am pretty sure that they are doing there best to fight the lag, but give me a MMO where (in theroy) all the players can gather in ONE system without any involvement from the GM?
True, I am mostly "hiding" in Empire space and do not meet the lag monster excet in Jita, (and there are messurments to avoid that. GFX setting and overview), but from my small experiance then:
1. Do not fly anythin you can not afford to lose.
2. Expect to be blobbed.
3. It is bad to be the last player to the party, (also in RL).
4. Dont go to forum complaning unless 1, 2 and 3 is in the green.

I'm laughing cuz you red guys are glad to see blobbed blobbers (yeah that's a vengeance !!), but you're also unhappy to have problem like this lag when it's not in your favor (cf. post in this thread).
I speak for both side (and also CCP), that's currently the game and yes red play better in this case, but the real bad is to see CCP says that problems are no more, and see that's not true, cuz i can insure you guys, playing "Grand Turismo" (the first arrived is the winner) in a game where you have to pew pew for attacking/defending your territory is the better way to kill this game when both side doesn't always have the same TimeZone !!!
clearly, that's what frustrated me !

Unlikely.
Some NC actually loaded the grid *before* the hostiles entered the grid. I'm guessing those who got through the bridges did so by loading barely before the hostile blob arrived on same grid. The rest got hung up as something like 300 additional ships appeared on the grid to be loaded and CCP failcode had a heart attack.
Watching the show from a cloaked bomber, we had no lag to speak of. There was also no lag when Black Ops bridging onto a grid that was clear even when system was full of people.
Something is broken that is related to loading a system where you enter a grid that is full of stuff.
Warping to grid full of stuff works roughly OK (minor lag, but nothing too horrible), bridging into a system full of stuff that is not on the grid where you arrive is also OK. Fail begins when the arrival grid is filled with ships and you are simultaneously loading a new system *and* a full grid.
Obviously when bridging in 200+ ships at once, the destination grid becomes "full" during the process even without hostiles around. So, in general, mass bridging -> fail for anyone who is slow at clicking the Titan.

In all honesty, can you come up with another solution that doesn't revolve around numbers and being there first? ok, there's a game element in racing to the next system and be the first to load grid but I doubt that is what CCP has in mind (let alone has been promoting/advocating in their commercial outings)

A few things:
The first engagement:
Yeah TCF got smoked on the gate but...
The rest NC decides to jump into system via 4 cynos while the TCF french intelligence division decides its best to jump through the gate with 400 Atlas/Solar/& co on the others side waiting to pew. The TCF fleet was maybe 150-200 and the best part is that they decide to do this at the exact same time the other 500-550 NC are bridging in. Hmm Think the server might be a little slow loading grid when local jumps from 450 to 1185? Yea, not the best decision.
Second:
Some whiner NC: "OMG, OMG, OMG, you guys had the grid first and so we lost due to lag" --> WRONG. After slaughtering TCF, we make a warpin on the iHub and proceed to ALL WARP ON TO A GRID THE NC HAD LOADED FIRST! Where our Snipe hac/Bomber gangs laid waste to their fleet once again.
Then they all run away due to being completely inept and most set up on the gate. For the second time WE WARP TO A GRID THEY HAVE ALREADY LOADED. And Yep, you guessed it, they all die in a barrage of competent FCing.
WE ALL HAD LAG! Hell our FC didnt even load grid half the time and still ran the show. This is what you call skill. Look it up some day..

Everyone from both sides was looking for a good fight. Do i speak for myself when i say i enjoy a big QUALITY pvp fight?
Well, we had enough players in system to make that fight one of those, targets being called, the adrenaline, ships going down both sides and all that jazz. In my humble opinion i think CCP are laughing their "assets" off... (Hey.. nobody realizes it¦s all our fault, not theirs.. they keep the "Pawened" "Owned" chit chat while we whistle our way out of the discussion..and they even pay us for this!)
I don't care if or what you reply to this. But i think we pushing in the wrong direction here, we are all on the same side in this case.
We want this game to be damn playabe!

NC don't understand the tactic of STAYING IN SYSTEM until the job is done. They are too stupid and lame to stick it out cus they want to be in another system to carebear.....why ELSE would they leave a system they know is going to be under attack. Weekend warriors You guys haven't changed one bit, just like the first Delve war where you siege a system and JUMP your caps out and then come back 2 days later to see the system is cyno jammed.....pro pvpers

Hey but honestly if you REALLY want to know how to bypass the grid loading problems.
Have your map opened to the solar system map. This causes only the overview to load but not the grid. So you can still shoot but you just wont be able to watch.
I dont know it works for me when trying to get in and out of jita.

In all honesty, can you come up with another solution that doesn't revolve around numbers and being there first? ok, there's a game element in racing to the next system and be the first to load grid but I doubt that is what CCP has in mind (let alone has been promoting/advocating in their commercial outings)
the guy that quoted me said they jumped 400+ more into the system than the enemy even had.......thats pretty substantial.
Coming from a man that played in 2004 when 60 man fights were omfgepic...i find all this whining about the lack of support for over a thousand people in a system utterly pathetic.

8.CCP have released aesthetic improvements in recent patches to attract new subscribers.
9.The latest Patch has great aesthetic improvements at the cost of large scale fleet battles.
10.CCP appears not to care about 0.0 subscribers.

The mayor problem here is, besides the stupid decision our FC's made, that the first in System has a more then serious advantage.
I am not saying it is unfair or anything like that, but when you are able to be first on teh grid, it has been like that in the past, and it will be like that in the future, then you have a davantage, like in any war basically.
Difference nowadays are the numbers of 0.0 Players joining fights. They increase, and thus the amount of clashing pilots increases.
A 300 vs 300 fight is possible if both sides are already in the system, but even 300 via Gate into 300 holding the gate is close to a suicide gank of a freighter in High Sec, you will loose the ships jumping in.
The not properly loading grid has been fought with a lot of tactics, jump in batches, CCP allowed us to turn brackets off etc.
But if my enemy is ina somewhat earlier Timezone, has a holiday or anything that allows him to be there first, then you are left with two choices. Everyone knows these two, jump in and die or give up for the moment and hope to fight another day under better conditions.
Right now this affects 0.0 warfare in a awful manner. It is not about the FC's quality, besides the ones delivering their fleet to be slaughtered, but it is about being there first, which from certain numbers, pretty much guarantees a win.
I seriously do not know how CCP can do something, besides figuring out what the difference between Apocrypha, where it worked much better, and Dominion, where its somewhat borked, is. But untill the 5th of january, it is borked, thus not what CCP sold and advertised in two trailers.
In conclusion, its not ATLAS vs. NC - IT vs. "There are no GOONS" or 0.0 vs. CCP. This being fixed is in the interest of all 0.0 players as it would allow us to have nice big fights with a lot of Alpha Strike and what not again.
This is my 5 cents to the situation where I horribly died in a grid load lagspike or whatever this was.

There were other things that 700 could have shot. Many other things. Things that might have ended up giving you a fight on better terms.
If this is the best your FC's could come up with, then fire your FC's. They aren't in your best interests.

1. Fix the large fleet lag issue
2. Phase out Jumpfreighters and Jumpbridges (lets go back to old school logistics, game was way better then)
3. Upgrade the mothership as promised!
4. Fix the highsec ganking, remove insurance completely from the game will work

A perfectly working game has never been made and in my experience every time something gets fixed something else gets broken, especially when (in this case) it's due to a significant change in the core nulsec game that Dominion is. CCP will change stuff to make Dominion work, not change Dominion.
So Yup .....there is a need to adapt and use several hundred pilots to distrupt the enemy across their space, using a backbone that can project power un-expectedly using jump drives. In trying to stop this a fixed defensive blob will have to disperse or suffer degradation in its home systems.
CCP don't want Blobs. They have a name for it ..."need for speed". There is thus an inherent driver to create a game where blobs work less well than "not blobs" and so this is the best thing to plan for......however much fun a 700 man fleet might be.

How do you define a 'blob' or 'blobbing'?
Because 'If the enemy has more ships than us' is about as stupid and childish as it can be.
You muster as many pilots as you can, for best chance of success.
If it's 400 against 700 that simply means the one side couldn't get more than 400 people together. It's not like they sent everybody else home.

During the actual fights, I don't think we lost much more then a squad of bombers, and maybe a couple of hacs.

Of course they are! You know they'll do EXACTLY the same thing you did, because it could never happen to people like them. Especially as the system has, for the last 30 minutes or so, averaged around 430 people. I'm sure jumping another 400+ into the system would surely not do the same thing. Especially when the rest of the NC decides to jump in on top of that.
Y'see, sure you pay for a game... a game that currently has no peers I know of when it comes to massive, truly numerous fights. The majority of MMOs would have watched the server go down when it was only 400 in system. I'm kind of sad I wasn't there... A massive fleet battle like that is exciting. Much better than smaller fleet/gang work.
Also, to the man that said "You actually never did anything significant in EVE. And now you post to laugh at others who did. " Wait. When has anything significant ever happened in Eve? Are they running Seti@HOME or some protein folding application on the idle cycles and come up with the cure for cancer?
Lag is an issue. But it's one you'll have to learn to deal with. Because once they come up with a way for you to load 1200 people onto a grid at once (the 400 warping in with the 800 jumping in at the same time), you'll be trying to do it with 2000 people at once. And then 3000. Etc, etc, etc.
Frankly, the amount of bandwidth that poor cluster needs to shove out its pipes just to get updates sorted and sent to all the individual clients is amazing. Maybe if they can get quantum servers online, you'll stop demanding performance that would get Tranquility snatched by military forces for... applications.
In any event, hoping your epic thread here doesn't mean you're going to resort to insane lengths to defend what is, even when I last lived there, a steaming pile of crap in the 0.0 world.

Lag has been part of fleet battles since like forever.. get over it..or just quit or maybe disband.
It still doesn't make it right, man. I mean, you're paying $15/mo to play this game. If you're a miner or mission runner then you're getting your money's worth. But if you live for the fights, the thrill of 2-3 hr long fights and such (which don't happen that often and when they do there's no guarantee you'll be online for it) - This type of problems, which are NOT part of game mechanics, really kill the gaming experience and make you feel like you're getting cheated out of your $15.
Just for the record, I wasn't part of THIS particular fight, and I've been very inactive for the past couple of months due to RL, so you can't accuse me of 'whinning loser' here. But I've suffered these types of CCP gems many times before. Sometimes in my favor (enemy gets lagged, dies horribly), sometimes not. Every single time, I get ****ed at CCP for denying ALL players involved a good gaming experience. Screw the "good fight", screw the ISK losses - it's not about that. It's about CCP living up to their own goddamned hype.

Regroup in Eurgrana and stand by for further instructions on OPS, we will be holding on any major CTAs untill after new years eve. You have all been doing fantastic so far, let's keep it up and take a much deserved break from major ops for 2 days.
One hint that the Mighty Goonswarm might show up and ATLAS scampers away home to hide from the bogeyman behind the sofa. RA and Solar must be delighted with their new allies.

Let's face the numbers game. It's Atlas/GC/COW vs WI/RZR in the begining. Numbers were even. So how did you guys end up with a total of 20k people vs 8k and calling Atlas cowards for not suiciding a fleet into Y8R? And all that while lag is a known issue and, let's play Sherlock here, blobs = moar lag.

At the end when Tudum realized all his efforts are going down the drain, they used their ultimate weapon - "Touch the nipples of NC men, they will surrender for sure"

Sadly our nipples were already ultra hard (picture is blurry so you cant notice Elvenlord pokies) Tudum emoraged and declared his holy crusade against NC until his nipples become hard as NC ones.

yep. it was starting to clear up and at least gunz started to react faster albeit still ****ty.
after the node crash omg i have no idea what happened. your fleet im sure had people i swear i saw die :/ then there was nothing on the feild; then you guys came in and left again causing lots of ghosting. then wrecks suddenly appeared from what appeared to be pre node crash.
i think possibly some people got rolled back and some didnt. but again i have no idea as initial reporst are confusing at best.

So fighting is going really good, rather smooth with a bit more than 800 in local, we¦re killing ships as they land on grid, and after 5-10mins, server crash and roll back.

Lets hear a great cheer for CCP for only giving Y8R one reinforcement timer before letting it, and the system be capped after partially rolling back the entire fight in Y8R.
I say partially, because while the NC forces spawned mostly in the POS, it booted some out in the middle of nowhere. Personally, my entire drone bay was ****ed..saying i had 4000m3 (i hope it stays that way...i will have the ultimate apoc of doom) but lacked the ability to launch drones. Nothing better than to be winning the battle (at least, it appeared that way on our end considering every atlas on the field was dead (wreck or invuln usually signaling that they ghosts) and we were starting to bubble the caps to go to town on them, only to have the battle "reset" and have the system handed over to them.

I'll grant that there probably wasn't an On-Call CCP Employee who logged into their server management software and clicked a reset button or issued a command.
But the node crashed (red ! mark crash), and when we reloaded, those who had lost ships had brand new ones, and so did our enemies. Most of the NC fleet respawned in a Razor pos..i think (atlas can confirm or whatever) that atlas respawned in their pos (mostly). Thus, the battle, which had been going good for the NC, was reset back to square one. Deliberate? Probably not by a human being, but it undid the battle. KM's weren't generated for round two either..some people got money for ships that still aren't dead, others (me) got an awesome Apoc of doom (4000m3 drone bay. I expect bragging about it will make it go away, but since i can't load or launch anything from it, it's a moot point). Still others died multiple times..full shield, armor, hull, only to regen full health and go back into the battle in a working ship.
But, cynoing in at a deep safe seems to keep you from suffering (mostly) evil grid lag..so vOv

If not, why didnt you just bridge in at different load points in system and then regroup for the battle?
Seriously, take y2 last weekend as an example of what happens when 700 people try to to jump into a system from the same gate/bridge.
Would it have been that much of a problem to have 3-4 titans with 100 players at each bridging to different points in target sys?

Yeah well Atlas says they talked to CCP about it before the attack when they noticed the station has not been repped and CCP said they can go for it so i guess both sides are currently petitioning the hell out of CCP. Let's see who wins THAT epic battle.

NC got what they planned, but this didn't worked.
They warped all the blobb to the gate 5 min before station was out of reinforce and deployed drones, hoping to kill SBU.
When reinforce was over,SF\Atlas warped to gate to support SBU and kill attackers. 10 minutes grid loading, killed few battleships, node crashed with yes, about 20 minutes rollback.
After restart NC failed to take field around SBU, station was taken and HUB\TCU was killed without any resistance.

Ok at the risk of trying to make a serious post on here I'm going to let people know what happened yesterday, It's got nothing to do with lag.
Y8R was previously attacked as we all know and the nc saved it by super blobbing the system.
At that time game mechanics were as such that on a system save, the system is completely reset, including the automatic repair of all station shield and armour hitpoints.
Some time after the save, ccp announced and released a patch that would cause you to have to repair the hitpoints on a station after it is put into its ref timer.
This however should not apply as the station was saved prior to the release of the (station rep) patch.
This however went wrong somehow, the station was never repaired automatically as the mechanic said it should. Either that or the armour was removed when the patch was deployed as it never registered someone as having repaired it, who knows, nobody checked as the station had not been attacked under the new game rules.
Atlas then notice that the station has no armour! they contact a GM to see what the score is, some random low level GM then cracks open the rule book and sees that you need to rep the station to get the second ref timer. Atlas get the green light, even though the GM hasn't taken everything into consideration.
It's a pretty monumental c*ck up to be honest that I have no idea how they will fix, personally I wouldn't be all that surprised if they just chalked it up to a game glitch and we just had to suck it up.

When the station came out of reinforce it had full armor and no shields. I was there cloaked when the timer went to 0.
