Hi everyone
My ATI Radeon 2900XT has died on me so I need a new graphics card, and it's been a long time since I last checked what's out there.
My current system specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, Gigabyte P35-DS3P Mainboard, 2GB Corsair 667 Ram 320GB Samsung SATAII HDD, Corsair 600W Modular PSU
Which GPU can you recommend given my system specs? I'm a gamer and I want something decent but not over the top.
My 'soft' budget is around US$150 but it's not set in stone.
Any advice would be most welcome as I'm looking to buy something ASAP.
Thanks.

Edited by: Brolly on 26/12/2009 23:46:12 I'd go for the 5750, good price and performance imho, it's dx11 compliant should you be interested in such things, plus it support multi monitor support, plus it is reputed to perform very well.

I ended up buying the ATI 5770 (thankfully they're open on Sunday). $189 Aussie dollars if anyone is interested at MSY.
It's over my budget but it is DirectX 11 compliant which probably doesn't mean much but at least a little future-proof. It seems to offer reasonable value for money, although by no means the best.
I just played Crysis & Eve on it and it's working fine. Thanks again & happy holidays.

I use the PCIe predecessor to this card currently. These newer ones are PCI 2.0 and much better.

i remember when i used way more money than a teenager should have on buying my first pentium. it was a 60Hz! i could only afford 16MB of ram!
it was about 2500$ in all but it got a kickass ATI 3D mach64 with 2MB of Vram later :)
