i was wondering if any one else is thinking the same as me !! for example the current price of a hulk 150 to 180 mill isk, the insurance is 10 mill isk you get back 30 mill isk how dose this work and what is the point of the insurance and that only covers the cost of the mods and drones, so dose any one know if ccp are going to revamp this or is it a ccp scam to funnel out isk from players ???

The point is insurance that only covers the cost of the mods and drones.
It's T1 insurance that needs the mega-nerf.

Insurance should always be the current average price (grabbed from the few different market hubs, compiled every week) of the materials required to produce the ship, at perfect BPO ME. When you sign the insurance contract, that's the payout you get, even if the averages on all materials increase x9001 within 1 minute of you saying yes.
0.0 folks (who I assume are the ones who use T2 the most) don't have insurance anyways, so it would be something to encourage high-sec carebears into T2, what with decreased risk of loss and all.
Or we can just keep it as-is and accept that running and losing T2 ships will make you lose money.

That was a really crap joke. I didn't laugh at all.
Plus its a ****ing stupid idea, if you want low cost ship losses fly fully insured T1. It makes no sense to have fully insured T2 ships, as that would make T1 totally obsolete.
Put it this way, who would fly a covetor over a hulk, if you could fully insure said hulk? All people with mining as a primary profession can fly or will be trainig to a hulk anyway.

Insurance is there to provide an artificial bottom for the price of minerals. It is working perfectly.

As per the devs, T2 insurance is where they want it to be. As such, working as intended.

It's not insurance. It just hijacked and redefined the name.
It's a subsidy to encourage people to lose ships.
looking at the payouts, and assuming that the CCP people who set "EvE-insurance" payouts and the resource costs for ships, the goal is:
* Help rookies more than experienced players * Help players using relatively cheap modules more those using expensive fittings
This would make sense if you thought the relative resource and manufacturing costs of T1 vs T2 gear made sense.
IMO the whole T2 thing is a horrible mess, so I think "EvE insurance" is messed up too. But I think CCP is probably ok with both "EvE insurance" and T2 costs.

Insurance in just a way of reducing the penalty on death. If you can use t2 stuff you don't need that reduction.
Or if you do, you're not very good at the game.

The only thing that needs to be changed about insurance is the cost of it itsself.
You almost never lose a ship -> insurance is cheap You lose alot of ships -> Insurance gets more expensive
IRL it works very good, why shouldnt it here? (In be4 because its a game) But then again I cant really approve of any of this because this is my signature |

T1 insurance provides a bottom point in the mineral market.
T2 insurance, or lack thereof, is to provide an increased risk for the increased awesomesauce included with your ship.
Now STFU kthxbi
edit: to remove ANY confusion, Eve insurance is something totally different than real insurance, so don't compare it.
