The POS is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half a large battleship fleet. It's defenses are designed around a direct, large-scale assault. A small one-man frigate should be able to penetrate the outer defense. =================== Go Bucks! |

But hitting the exhaust port is impossible, even for a computer.
(OP: If you haven't guessed yet, the answer is no. If you could there would be fewer abandoned POS's littering space.)

Actually, yes, there is. It is done with relative frequency, but most likely NOT in the way you would expect ( which is why it works, every time ).
You get yourself or an alt into the enemy corp. You prove yourself a dedicated, hard worker, and work your way up to Starbase Management in the corp directory.
Plan your exit strategy well. Know when the enemy is least likely to be logged on.
During their "off peak" time, simply drive out to the POS(es) and start unanchoring and stealing the mods. POSes don't send any warning cries that they are being dismantled. What you will be doing won't be seen as an "attack" by the automated reporting devices.
I've know folks to make off with several multi-billion isk faction towers, as well as hunders of millions in mods, in a single "night" from a well planned operation.
Good luck, and happy hunting!

It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters. |
