I'm just thankful it managed to live up to the hype unlike Doom 3.

Played it for half an hour or so and I'm already very impressed.
The graphics are excellent (realistic without ridiculous over-use of reflections and other FPS-ruining fanciness) and the sound is excellent.
My only issue has been some stuttering when new sond files are loaded but I've looked on the forums and it's a commo issue that is due to be fixed with a patch.
Someone mentioned pre-caching the sound files but didn't explain how.
I'm running 1152*864 with high details on my ATI Radeon 128MB Pro and 2.2Ghz/1.5GB RAM machine with no other issues which, considering how greedy Doom 3 was, is very nice. I may even up the res. once the stuttering is patched.

The ingame gfx details are high but my actual gfx cards settings are set for performance so perhaps that is the difference.
I also run the games from Western Digital Raptor drives and have a pretty fast mobo.

Anyone using a Radeon card newer than 9500 series should upgrade to 4.12 Beta's - you gain around 10-15 fps with them and it looks just as good.
