Hello, I find that I currently am and will in the future need of a reliable courier service. I have tried the contract market and either people think that which I contract is a scam or that it's not worth their time to take on. Perhaps I am just offering too little for their time, I don't know. On of my current contracts was offering 1.5M to transport 53,000 m3 cargo 6 jumps with a 15m collateral (2 of which were into low sec 0.4, 0.3) but no takers.
Is there a well known reliable courier service in EVE that might have a standardized rate so that i can figure them into the expenses when we need them?
Thank you, EE

Only one I've heard of is Red Frog. 53k m3 requires an Orca or Freighter. I would suggest breaking your size amounts down to something more manageable.

What you were offering, was to take a ship worth of 500million to a low sec (where you have no concorde protection). For a fee of 1,5 million ? And you ask why people aren't taking your contract seriously ?

I'll see if the cargo can be broken down into smaller chunks (physically i know it can, but i didn't see that option when making the contract, it was probably there, I just didn't see it), perhaps people will be more willing to put their smaller ships in harms way to move this cargo through those two sectors, and I'll check out Red Frog and see if they are somebody that will deal with us.
I would expect people that do courier runs take the proper precautions when going into low sec to protect their ships from harm, however I do see now that if it's only the largest of ships that can move that large of cargo, then obviously I wouldn't be paying enough at 1.5m even if they do surround themselves with a huge fleet of ships to keep the cargo and hauler safe.
Thank you for the response,

Thank you for the response,
For a low-sec run you have 2 choices really:
A fully tricked out Blockade Runner can carry 10k m3. A more commonly fit for low-sec blockade runner would carry about 5k m3 (maybe 6k m3). These are within the grasp of many players and breaking your shipment into chunks of about 5k m3 would be appropriate if you can find BR pilots willing to take it on. This would require probably 10 or 11 trips though.
A Jump Freighter - these would carry your load in one go, but the fuel for one of these is going to be quite expensive. They can jump from high-sec right into low-sec and drop your goods. The JF pilot will likely want you to pay his return fuel bill as well. If it's just one jump into low-sec, he can leave station and travel right back to the gate (he still needs an alt to scout, punt and protect him though). If it's deeper into low-sec then he'll want to jump back closer before getting out to high-sec through a gate.

The courier system is not really used that much. The system invites scamming and the user interface is really bad and cumbersome to use. I think the main use is internal to corporations and alliances, where people can be trusted more.

It's really not that hard to pick out the scams. Also, if you're worried about the contractor killing you when you undock so you have to fork over the collateral when he ganks you, just trade the package to an alt and have it transport.
Personally, I think the reason the courier system isn't widely used is because people can make more isk doing other activities. I find that people who like hauling are usually the only ones running the courier services. Everyone else is just an afk'ing alt making a little isk on the side.

Honsetly anyone that has the skills to run a BR into low sec won't take 1.5 mil as payment.
You are excessively cheap for the risk they are taking or the amount of man hours that needs to be invested for such a small amount.

Agreed. I mean, my hauler just did some public courier contracts that totalled 3 million ISK for just a couple jumps in highsec.

Hi Eden, as others have said you can contact us for any high sec courier service you need. We do not do any low sec or 0.0 work though, so you will have to find others for that kind deliveries.
Our prices pr trip can be calculated with our reward calculator: http://red-frog.org/jumps.php
Just enter in start and end system. Visit the RF Freight channel ingame, or our thread (see my sig) for more information, and limitations to our service.
