I know there is already a post. But its already shut down.
I notice sins bob have lost there space *if thats true. Users are dropping its more like 20k/30k players i have seen lower amount off people. The questions is, have eve lost players because off the new mmorpg thats coming feb 2010. Or its just a small drop. Or perhaps the bob players quit. Or having a break? Any one a idea? Or its just me. Some day i will hunt you! |

There have been peaks of 50K plus players recently - probably a little quieter right now due to people doing holiday stuff.

Pretty sure star trek online is coming out in feb. Of course, there's no reason why that should really alter eve numbers now, as open beta isn't even out yet
anyhow, re:OP, I logged on at 7am EVE time (which isn't exactly peak TZ) to see 27ishk on, and EVE Offline says that the number peaked at almost 50k just yesterday evening, so... _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

Well i don`t whant to say the new mmorpg but well. Perhaps the new startrek online. The closed beta in that game is over the open beta is open. However its a holiday i know. But everyone have a free day and many people like to play a game right? it don`t matter when there is a holiday or not. I have not see around 50k of people in the last expand. But again i can make a mistake! Some day i will hunt you! |

A few weeks ago the record was broken for the ammount of accounts logged in. So it would seem that there is actually more people now. And as for saying about BoB players leaving and such, they reformed into another alliance called IT. ------

I mean in game users not (website control). Because the website is not correct or the game is not correct. However like a say its not more but lower people. If there was a record i have definitively mis it. Also the xfire programe don`t count to because i can stick in the login screen the timer will say that (on xfire) in game but aim not. Some day i will hunt you! |

You're seeing wrong, the numbers have been climbing like they pretty much always have. Even with the huge numbers of RMT related bans... so what are you on about?

No sense you make.
In-game there was recently the most users ever online. This was formally confirmed by CCP. I already said that and that kind of shows that there is around the same ammount of people playing if not slightly more. *hits head off desk* ------

It's 35k right now, not even within the EU primetime yet, on a day when people are probably far more interested in getting plastered than playing EVE…

Seeing 50k+ pilots online recently makes me think this is just a troll post.
STO may be coming out soon, but I really do not see that game having much if any impact on EVE. EVE is a huge sandbox which caters to numerous playstyles, large scale PvP, small roaming gangs, solo PvPers, Solo or group mission runners, traders, solo or Corp worm hole explorers, FW plexers, miners, industrialists etc..etc.
STO is a casual, themepark style MMO with Arena/Battleground PvP added on to make the WoW PvPers happy.
Some people will leave, but I think after they get tired of running quests over and over or get sick of sitting in queue waiting for some PvP with xxxLegolasxxx from a different server, they will come back to EVE.

If aim to troll eve i don`t troll it on a eve forum. Its lame and stupid. Its a question. In me eyes the game lost "lost big word like you say many other game style in eve" players. But i say i have not seen a long time when eve hit the 40k let alone the 50k players. "ps if i like to troll i go to a other forum where i can troll me question" Some day i will hunt you! |

Then your are blind or stupid. 40k+ has been the norm for awhile. It also depends what time of day you log on. Around 2200 Eve time is close to prime time as that is when people in the US are getting home from school or work and people in Europe are just finishing up before bed.

Maybe it's a time zone issue, but when I logon in the mornings to check skills (30 minutes after DT) there are normally about 35k players online. When I get home from work (about 5:30 CST) there are 42-45k players on. During weekends it is not unusual to see it top 50k players.
Just checked at 2:35 CST (20:35 EVE time) and there are 33k players...it's New Years Eve and lots of people are still playing :)

are you on crack?
everytime I login it says 40k or more... it was 51k some moments ago.
if you are talking about ACTUAL players -persons- then yes, a noticeable % of EVE population are alts, not to talk of trial accounts that wont even subscribe... so theres always a residual amount that is not worth counting.
