Edited by: NightmareX on 31/12/2009 19:19:03 Hey. And happy new year.
Well what can i say, my new year started badly heh. My PSU took suicide earlier today. The PSU is an Enermax Liberty 620W. That's a very nice PSU.
But anyways. I need a new PSU now. And the new PSU should be from 700W and up to like 850W. So i'm asking you guys for some ideas on what PSU i can buy.
The PSU need to be in top quality and need to have modular cables. The PSU's i'm mainly looking at is from Corsair, Enermax and OCZ. But other brands is also allowed to link to here, as long they are in very high quality and have modular cables.
So please link to what PSU you recommend so i can take a look if i can get it here in Norway. Or here where i live.
I wont respont much to this topic today, because i'm gonna watch the fireworks outside pretty soonÖ .
Also, i'm thinking on buying the new PSU 4. January 2010, so you have some time to give me some recommendations then.
If you wonder, i'm posting from my parents computer. Since i don't have a working computer before i have got the new PSU.
Alright, that was all.

I use the PC Power and Cooling 910 Watt Silencer PSU. Though you said you don't need that much, a quick look on their sight brought me to this:

I use the slightly beefier HX650 myself but I couldn't find a similarly thorough review of it. The HX850 is very similar in terms of internals to the HX650 though, so you could use that as a reference.
These should all be very quiet, high efficiency PSUs with plenty of available connectors for whatever you have in your system.
Personally, I love the Corsair PSUs, quiet, efficient and high quality. All great qualities in a PSU since it needs to last a long time. They are a bit more expensive than average, but given the quality they usually display, well worth the investment.

Yeah, i know the Corsair PSU's are very good. So if there isn't other ideas on other good PSU's, then i think i'm gonna go for a Corsair 750w PSU.

I just ordered a new Corsair 750W PSU myself from Newegg. There is even a $10 rebate right now, bringing the price down even more. The one I got isn't modular, but I can live with that.
Keep in mind, that for PSUs you need to look carefully at the stats. Some of them might be a great price, such as this $70 750W PSU I saw. However looking at it, the 12V rails are only rated at 21-23 amps, while the same wattage from Corsair is rated between 60-62 amps. A must have, especially for high end video cards.
Try to find efficient models as well, that use more power and release less heat for lower electric bills. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Yeah, you bought the Corsair TX750w model. And that's a non-modular PSU.
The one i'm looking at is a Corsair HX750w PSU, and that's a modular one.
I have been reading some tests of the HX750w PSU, and it seems that most of the sites that have tested it gave it a really nice character for being a VERY nice PSU.

Edited by: NightmareX on 02/01/2010 00:18:45 Ok, i have found out what caused the problem so my computer didn't started. It's not my PSU lol . It's the power button that's broken in some ways.
So i had to use something that leads electricity and then start the computer by putting the thing that lead the electricity to the 2 pins on the motherboard that's normally used by the wire that goes to the power button.
So when i did put the thing that lead electricity on the 2 pins, then my computer started right away.
Yes i'm writing this from my own computer now. And i don't think i really need a new PSU right now though. So i can wait a little with that.

I would second any of the Corsair HX serious PSU's. I am using the HX850 having upgraded from the HX650 only reason was because I bought a 2nd videocard other wise I would sill be using the HX650. You are not allowed to discuss forum moderation in signature. Applebabe |
