i was just wondering weather the BoB kill boards are accurate?. Just looking at a page for PA saying PA "Kills (956)", "Losses (3451)", also CA "Kills (97)", "Losses (427)". was just wondering if this was correct as ive looked around most "kill boards" and they all seen to be that the alliance who made it have got the most kills and least losses (not saying BoB are lyin, just pointing my opinion out). Thats my crying done 4 2day. Happy Gankin

I would imagine that if you wanted the most accurate kill/death statistics for any group, go take the kills from their board, and the kills from their opponents board to work out the kill/loss ratio. I'd guess that most players are slack about logging their own deaths but pretty diligent about logging kills they make.

It is the feature of all killboards that people are very keen to post their successes whilst not so keen to post their losses. That's just human nature.
In addition, only recently did people collect the information on killboards of losses as well as their successes. Therefore there is a bias on all killboards towards greater number of kills compared to losses that will diminish with time.
Overall the BoB killboard is fairly accurate. There are a few omissions, charitably from human oversight, that normally get corrected a few days later.

We try to be as accurate as possible, but you cant have a 100% ... Hashi is correct, people just seems to "forget" to post their losses ;)

If you're in a 10v10 battle, and 8 battleships die, you'll get 8 kill mails that look like 10v1 ganks.
Kill mails don't display your gang, just the people who eventually resulted in your demise. -- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

Errr, i think you dont get it. It shows whats on the killmail. For every victims, the killers. Not showing the whole battle.

no, because that would make the kill logging to a process of subjective interpretation. You would get people whining that a kill was made when the numbers were 43 vs 41 etc. Pretty much every kill is a gank, even in fleet battle situations. 1v1s are one of the only times when you are going to get only one person involved in a kill.

We wont see anything 100% reliable until CCP implements something like that, if they ever will. But they have talked about ranking system etc, i see both good and bad things come from something like that. So until a good ranking system is implemented i dont want to see "official killboards" etc.

The kills are probably close to accurate, not so much with the losses. Just like everyone else's killboards. |

budman's a n00b :D

Killboards wll only be accurate when people post their kills and losses. So they will never be 100% accurate as lon as people slacken off and go get ****ed at the pub etc :)
BoBs is the most accurate yet though and people were told allllll the time to put their kills and deaths on the boards.
My vids and random stuff |

Kills id say its accurate cept the occaisonal empty shuttle ect
but like poeple are saying the losses are not accurate as it would be with ANY kill/loss baord, you can moan at yur peeps all you like some times they wont post there losses.
eg. we set up a trap to see if some ships would follow one of our ceptor to a pack of taranis's 2 did an osprey and a crusador both got pwned b4 there larger support warped in we had no losses,. Only the crusader was reported the BB wasnt. They fell for a trick and we got em good, its stuff like that, that people dont like to report as being human they dont like to admit mistakes, its mirrored on the PA kill board and im shure its the same on all boards that record loss to.
Features wise though the BOB kill board is proberly the best IMO, they have also added a cross link to PA boards so they can be checked and if the PA board had the same would be easy to cross reference stats. ----------------------------------------------
