Edited by: Hera Ominae on 02/01/2010 11:34:04 I have interesting situation, and I haven't ran into this before. I have done many character sales and purchases in past years. This is the first time that I discovered that the old owner of my new character has eather purchased ISK from RMT, used contracts to move ISK to alt of his or got really lucky with contract scams.
Contract history shows two suspicious contracts, where are named T1 modules being sold with 1.5 B and 2.0 B ISK, and the purchase is done by 8 day old character. They are dated at the same day and they are on same minute. So I don't think that he would have pulled two contract scams so fast. Of course it's not surprising if such young character has billions of ISK, we all have alts. But the contracts are done at the same day that we traded our characters, few hours earlier.
I do have screenshots of the character trade thread (in case if he tries to cover up and removes the posts in that thread), chat logs with the buyer and of course transaction logs showing when the we did character trade.
So my question is that, should I contact CCP?
I am just afraid that CCP notices that, then they ban my new character to investigate and then I might lose lot's of gaming time, wich I believe I will get reimbursed.
Also, has anyone noticed the same?
Because, we did a character trade, so I traded my character and got his character plus some ISK to cover the gap (his character was valued lower than mine). I believe that he did buy ISK from RMT to fund the purchase.
I am bit ****ed off about this, since I have been looking for character like this for months and now when I find one, it has bad history
EDIT: And of course trade was done within the rules stated by CCP in sticky thread in Character Bazaar and it was done via CCP account management where you find the 'Transfer Character'.

I would certainly contact CCP and explain the situation. But remember by doing that you will get the account disabled as they investigate, but better when you ask than months down the line and when you least expect it. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

I sent petition, just to be sure about it. Yes, they might be legit, or not. I just care about the reputation of my new character, that's all.

I believe for any investigation to take place, CCP will have to inevitably suspend the account. However, if you bring it to their attention - it may not take as long as them finding it.
But as others suggested - have a long skill training.

If you believe that ISK purchases have been made on the account do as other suggested and inform CCP of your belief after setting a long skill. This way while they my suspend the account to investigate it, you are at least expecting it and the GM who investigates it looking at it form the perspective that you have purchased the character and found it so you are not responsible for it. Also the logs would be clearer at this point as there would be less data built up since you pruchase. It may also be worth including the link to the character sales thread.
Otherwise the account may get a negative wallet as and when CCP bust a ISK selling group and reverse all the transactions. Then you will have to raise the partition along with the reasons and the GM has to spend longer finding the logs and working backwards though all the activities to find that the purchase was before you owned it. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |
