So they/we know there are issues with the servers...what was your suggestion to the problem? Node could not be reinforced since CCP needs 1 DT to do that, and the TCU goes online in 12h... SOT failed to transfer station...make that BPM failed to do that since they were the corp to hold the SOV there... on behalf of SOT. Putting ppl there during other ours? Is this a joke? How exactly do you think this can happend, when the whole "fight" began during early US TZ? Maybe ppl should wake up in 5 in the morning to move ships there and than go to sleep again...till 9 in the morning ( for example ) when the "battle" should start...? I'm sure you would suggest they try to sneak in thru the gates with heavy BSs and cross their fingers they don't get killed on the entrance to the system...
You are confirming what i say really. Its your own fault. BPM failed to transfer the SOT station. It was weekend. It was very late for euros (me included) but we stuck with it. Its called commitment. I had 4 hours sleep before i had to get up with my son I was 5 mins from logging when it all broke lose!, but thats a digression. No you could have bridged in ppl during the day/night, not all in one go. We managed to.
Are you playing dumb or smth? When the SOV dropped it was in mid day for euros...you had 12 hours to move all ppl in the system, IT moved 90% forces in that period of time. US TZ guys had alot less time to get their things done... So we now have to think about all the crap that dominion and CCP brought us, and possible issues we might face, some game this is...fun fun fun...If I wanted to apply for lab mouse I will let CCP know...until then I expect to PLAY the game that I pay for the way it was supposed to be plaid thank you very much. Beware next time the lab mouse might be you...
Still my previous argument holds. You knew about the servers, you were warned in advance. You failed in transfering station you decided to jump in 600+ pilots in one go. And then you complain about losses afterwards, when you knew the risk.

You know, the guy's got a point. I think the best thing to do is for us all agree to be nice and to NOT attack SOT unless it's their prime time. Anything else would just be mean, since it's not their fault they can only cover one TZ.

I canÆt tell at this point what has been more embarrassing for SOT:
òGetting suckered into killing one of their own Titans
òBotching the sov transfer of the backdoor system to Delve right after DT.
òSetting the scene for the PanSwarm to claim fame to the biggest loss in EVE historyà..
I am sure there are a few other notable achievements of SOTs that I missed but which of them will the always be remembered for when people years from now mutter their nameà..

Quote: If I wanted to apply for lab mouse I will let CCP know
I'm sorry, Iso, but you, like everyone else here, are playing an MMO, and that means that you, as well as everyone else, are nothing but lab mice. This game isn't GOLD, don't look at it like it is, there's so much wrong with it that should be improved, most of which WILL be improved over time... It's really just a post-Beta Build.
That's kinda why the game had been out for 5 years before they actually started doing real advertisements for this game. You don't advert a game on TV unless it's at least -somewhat- playable, or if you need more guinea pigs to join the game and break stuff for you.
We're PAYING CCP to be Game Testers. Duh. That's all playing an MMO is, to them.
You guys broke the game, at least client side on your end... Good job. Maybe CCP will fix it if enough people QQ about it to them. Ya know?
Edit: And the simple fix for CCP to make to ensure this **** doesn't happen again, would be to have 1 server per 4-5 solar systems. (Tranquility isn't just one big computer, it's a multitude of large computers controlling different regions of space, right?) Apparently having 1400+ people in a single region is too much for one computer to handle... So, add more computing power, should be good to go. Maybe one day if CCP gets enough of a player base, they can have 1 computer per solar system (Yes, that's a **** ton of computers...) and we can maybe see 2000 man fleet battles with MINIMAL lag.

From a business standpoint ccp does not want to admit how difficult it is to manage the bandwidth requirements when you have 500-1000 people in a single system. The amount of objects that need to be tracked, there movement, there module's and how they effect other objects is an enormous task.
CCP has made some great strides and improvements but we have to understand that it may never be possible under the current system to conduct warfare in such large numbers. You can blame ccp all you want but you have people playing on dial-up to very high speed connections as well as the capacity of there servers and routers to contend with.
And then the change of the titan doomsday from an area effect to a single shot massive damage weapon don't help things much either. Granted most of the titan pilots that I know have stated they were very happy with the changes because they wanted to participate in large scale fights. But now there is no anti-blobing weapon in game. So the the side that can get the most people in system will win... in fact I could take this an additional step and state the people that can get the most people into the system to cause node death win.

You might think so only because of your inexperience with PL's style of play and with EVE in general. This is not a game for children that run off to mommy crying whenever they loose a ship. PL jumping 5 titans means they were ready to loose them, and this holds true for every ship they and Goons jumped into that system. This is one of the differences between the type of gamers that they are and you. They knew the risks (I think we can all agree that they've seen their share of large fleet battles) and imho just having the balls to do it deserves respect. How many "great" alliances would do that? I don't know why I'm explaining this to people like you, I guess out of pity. You should figure out something like that for yourself and think about it. Sorry if I'm being rude, it's just that I feel sorry sometimes for people that can't or are afraid to look further than 2 inches in front of their noses.
gl
If this is true then why are so many PL/Goons/etc... screaming reimbursement?
Facts are they just under estimated what the opposition had and when they realized just how badly they were about to get gang ra**d they gave the order to logoffski and hope for the best.
I know your a pet and all so its doubtful that you will understand this or are even aware of it but your masters are not the pvp'rs they claim to be. They are only good at one thing and that is attacking someone who is already in a fight. They zoom around in their nano hacks from 80k plus away, and they will only show up when they are very sure your focus is on someone else. Unfortunately for them there is no other meat bag besides SOT and Goons willing to fill that role, and it just does not seem enough to protect fountain.
This man has clue. And i can proof it.
Can one of the whiners tell me why every ship in the 'black screen' fleet makes damage ? So you can lock and activate weapons, when you loading the grid ? H4X !

You realise that almost everybody in this thread, except you, has found themselves on the receiving end of this kind of misfortune before, right? The problem (grid not loading), the system (Y-2ANO) was the same after the trinity patch 2 years ago during the Delve I war.
Oh sorry, you're a total nublet and didn't know that. PL's leadership did though, and still choose to jump in, betting on the node crashing. Losing that bet.
Maybe the stupidtitus that has so publicly affected SoT is contagious?

But they did deliver and at the service level/quality you agreed to. You should totally check out Section 12 of the EULA (since you like to complain about it). Here is a link for you http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/EULA#12._NO_WARRANTIES
This is the relevant bit quoted and in bold:
Quote: There is no warranty against interference with your enjoyment of the Game. CCP does not warrant that the operation of the System or your access to the System, or that your use of the Software, will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that the System or Software will be compatible with your hardware and software.
While CCP attempts to have the System available at most times, CCP does not guarantee that the System will always be available, or that the System will not become unavailable during Game play. The System may become unavailable for a number of reasons, including without limitation during the performance of maintenance to the System, for the implementation of new software, for emergency situations and due to equipment or telecommunications failures.

p.s. the fact of the matter is that the system was lost the instant SOT screwed up the sov transfer, because there were only two choices after that:
Choice 1. Ignore the sov loss and allow IT to take the system Choice 2. Jump into a non-reinforced node which IT has had all day to pack with alt accounts, dreads, and titans
Choice 2 has very little chance of success and a much greater risk of loss but HEY JUMP IN GUYS, I AM EDGY LIKE TOLON mad props to PL for (like goonswarm) not only utterly failing to grasp this, but jumping titans without even waiting to see how the system would respond to the capfleet jumping in

I'm going to dispute the "HEY JUMP IN GUYS, I AM EDGY LIKE TOLON". It's desperation & denial. PL cannot believe this could happen to them. Given the steamroller that IT fountain campaign has turned into, it's not going to be long before they come knocking on Querious & Delve.
I hope your posting will continue to be so chipper when the inevitable happens.
