I still don't know a lot about Corps, but something I know even less of is what Corp's get out of picking up new players. A new player could possibly get some game tips, some people to gang up with, and sometimes isk or ships depending on the Corporation.
But what does said Corporation get from the new player? For instance, I have about 30k sp, very little isk, and hardly any in game experience. Why would someone want to pick me up for their Corporation? Can't be the taxation alone, there must be something else, and it's that something else that I'm curious about.
I'm not looking for a Corp yet, but just more along the lines of the why and how. Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Potential. If you become a good member of that corp in time then you will be worth a lot to them. Also its good to group with people and make friends.
Taxation doesn't work btw.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Aodha picked up on it in part.
You usally find that smaller corporations are willing to take on new players as it will increase the member count to attract more people.
Also if the player sticks around long enough in the corp then yes they can start to make use of you with the skills that you have developed and you will have already shown loyalty by staying around.
Also some leaders are caring enough that they don't want to get into large corps and would rather have a small corp with friendly people (new or old) and some cases act like a mentor to new people.

I actually like to pick up new players... You can mold them and help them advance in the game..
Member Count is also important (as said)..to attract more members...

i cant speak as a ceo (because im not one :D) but i have to say i have no doubts i would get a great deal of satisfaction in knowing i can help out a new player/corp member. Also, as has been said, recruiting new players allows you to teach them about the game and help them advance. Not only do you get the satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone learn the game, and how to play it, but you also get a valued corp member who can help out in mining/pvp/whatever...
[shameless plug]ruari, if you are interested in joining a corp, eve-mail me in game [/shameless plug]

Its all about teamwork and helping make your corp better, by getting in new people the people grow and so does the corp. its not about milking new players for menial tasks its about helping new players make the right carear choices along the way, joining a corp is one of the easiest ways of learning stuff, option 2 is go it alone, option 3 is ask in help channell. The corp is best option.
Also If your in euro timezone give me a shout. My corp likes taking new players on.

I'm always on the lookout for new warp scrambling webifying cannon fodder.
Noobs make good tacklers, and it really isn't that expensive to keep them supplied with frigates.

Get more people into the corp bigger corp (numbers) usally easier to recruit more people. for industry corps, noobs will most time mine and mine. and be hauling slave? when the player does get alot sp, there be very loyal to the corp. and just more people to talk with.
uhh i hope this helps a little.
