...but then I saw that the cheapest shipping cost is over 66$! Cheapest!
I mean, what the FRAK is up with the shipping costs? shipping one book costs 66$? On what planet?!? It's like every courier comes with an armed escort or something?

Moving of the store to the US instead of Iceland was a great idea.

..and Fedex gives you nothing but trouble. I had to pay EXTRA, to get them to deliver it a second time, because I was at work the first time they rang my doorbell. And that extra payment I had to pay via a 3 way route - - my bank - national bank - their bank.
I will never again buy something from Eve Store.

Interesting.
Where I live Fedex will leave it in your door or just outside if possible. If not they will try to redeliver. Failing that they leave an address where you can come and claim the package.
I have never heard of them charging someone twice for delivery.

Yeah, it's absurdly expensive for even slowpoke shipping. Someone needs to remind them that suicide ganking haulers is really only that common in the game, not real life.
/ended up going to Fanfest to pick up that zippo I've lusted after. Oh, and for the beer and geekery and such. But mostly the no shipping fee zippo.

the eve store is hopeless.
even if you pay the insane shipping, they will let your order sit and rot for months and not reply to any email you sent to them.
they will also try to charge you twice for shipping if you try to order say a cup and an e-on mag.
their contact phone number is an answering service that does not give you any option to leave a message or connect to an actual person.
my last order i had to cancel and dispute the paypal payment because they kept my order in "awaiting payment" for two month despite numerous mails with paypal payment confirmation.
three days after i had recieved the money back from paypal i suddenly get a mail from fedex that my order had been picked up and was on its way. i sent a mail to the eve store telling them that the order was canceled and i had gotten my money back. a week later fedex delivered my order. i sent another mail asking them to bill me again and i have heard nothing since.
hmm. maybe you should order from them :D

And as so often with CCP the question arises "why is no one taking care of this?".

Sad to hear that it sucks. Would love to have some Eve Fan-stuff to show off and do some "free" advertising for this game.

In my 6 years of Eve as a customer, the few times there've been any problem with anything, it has swiftly been fixed and I've gotten well treated by all staff of Eve. Sure, it sucks that the shop is crap, but that's about all, in my experience. I find your comment quite wrong, sorry.

Nah, sounds like too much work for the amount involved.
You didn't get that stuff for free, sounds like you had to work hard for it.

A lot of online retailers try to either gain extra profit or defray losses in their shipping charges. My guess is that whoever is running CCP's store skipped the part where you're supposed to be subtle about it.

The store isn't actually handeled by the people working with EVE. It is the white wolf online store, that is responsible for the online store side of the business. It is owned by CCP, but it is a wholly independent subsidiary.
Their site seems pretty normal if very simple, but is severely lacking on the customer support side of comparable services I use. The shipping service they have is horribly expensive compared to all other alternatives I've ever encountered though. Can't comment on the service personally though, since the shipping charge discourages purchacing low volume, low cost products.

when was this change made?
I ordered a few t-shirts a while back and it cost what I would consider 'normal'. and the very same order now costs twice as much.

hmmm.. i remember when i first started playing eve ('04) i wanted some eve shwag in my room so i went online to order some stuff... until i saw the shipping
back then, the store was all eu based. so, i UNDERSTOOD that shipping across an ocean costs money and just decided it wasn't in my budget.
2 months ago i ordered a bunch of stuff. it arrived very quickly and at an acceptable shipping rate. i was pleased.
quit crying about shipping because one company can't manage to ship anywhere in the world for $2. boo-hoo. suck it up. it's like hearing some guy cry because eve downtime happens to be during his play time. WOW! REALLY? YOU DON'T SAY!?

So you where ok to cry about it when it cost you a stupid amount in shipping but now it doesn't bother you we can't? Genious logic there.
I don't think its the case we are moaning about the price as such more the fact we don't quite get why it is so expensive? No offense but I work in the transport industry. The only reasons for insane costs for some companies is because they are so small that perhaps your order is the only one going to say the UK that day. With Fed Ex this really isn't the case, they probably ship 3 planes worth of goods everyday just to the UK. heck they even have distribution centres here. So your telling me every parcel on that plane is priced at $44.00 for shipping? I think not. --------------------------------------
