VeldsparLotto DotCom

I've spent the last few weeks assembling VeldsparLotto.com and I'm looking for a hand full of players to test the system before pushing it live.
Its a basic lottery, send 1,000 ISK to character VeldpsarLotto DotCom and be entered in the automated drawing. Once the clock runs out the prize is awarded.
The goal here is to have an honest and trusted fully automatic lottery for EVE Online that anyone can afford and play anytime from anywhere. Once its live and more pilots are playing the jackpot will be significantly larger.
The help I'm looking for:
1. Look over the site to ensure parts are loading correctly and information is accurate. 2. Send 1,000 ISK (low risk) to VeldpsarLotto DotCom, wait an hour and see if name appears on front page of site.
I greatly appreciate this, this project has taken alot of time to put together, thanks for helping with the fine tuning.

How can you guarantee that your "random computer code" doesn't intentionally pick up your alt as a winner?

This I think is where people must exercise their own intelligence.

Nice site, smells of scam though.
I can't help but think that once you have gained a number of people and made prizes / tickets worth a decent amount of isk you will run with it. ------

Edited by: Forum Reprentative on 04/01/2010 16:00:37 This idea COULD be nice w/out the need of Scam. you can just keep 10% of the pot as a profit an still be a fair and profitable business.
The problem is that this is EVE and no one is going to trust you.
The only one Char that I would trust in such venture would be Chribba.
Not because I have any sort of special sympathy with him, but because the guy has a well deserved good reputation.

Misspelling the character the isk should be sent for twice certainly gives readers the feeling you're a solid lottery manager.

So what if it is a scam? You lose 1k isk, OMFG!
Sounds like a good idea. If it is a scam I say good work. The scammer got some money and no one really took any loss. Win-win

Step stone scamming. You do the 1k "test run". Test site, someone wins, he pays out, everything fine and dandy.
Next lotto is 1 Mil, or 10 Mil, etc. Scam.
As mentioned, the winner may be his main, so he could keep the scam going over multiple rounds.
Not saying that the OP is necessarily a scammer... But if not, why not post with his main?
EDIT: And/Or possible phishing site?

Thanks for the feedback. Spelling mistakes buttoned up and to clarify a few things on my motives for running the lottery.
I like EVE Online, I've played it a bit, and I thought I'd try something other than mining or missions.
My primary character is Key Note, had the idea after I started the game and didn't want to trash that character so I branded one called VeldsparLotto DotCom to brand the website. Hence he's not a primary.
The Forum Moderator is correct, I do keep 10% of the ticket sales to cover the cost of the lottery. Jackpot still grows large though once enough people have bought tickets.
The 10% is on par with mining rate of income. I have no motivation to take the money and run because in the long run the 10% is enough. Besides my nature is to try and see how big I can get this, just like many of you want a station, I want a lotto.
So my best interest is to keep it fair and pay out winnings. Over time I hope people come to trust VeldsparLotto.com.
Thanks you to the few that have taken a leap of faith, hope this is fun, the live site timer is winding down to the first drawing.

I'll confirm this seems legit though it appears he had to lower the price payout because he wasn't making a profit. I won twice in row by simply buying more tickets than the other two guys that participated. This has the potential to grow into a large payout game with hundreds of participants or has the potential to grow and to be harvested but frankly the greatest long term gain would be from staying legit.
I'm not an alt of veldsparlotto nor is he an alt of mine errrrr yeah that was worded correctly.

Lacks transparancy, how can i make sure this lottery does not contain too much skimming off of the top for my liking?

Dont get me wrong, i think its an excellent concept. However i think the draw times should be random. This will generate more page views ;)
OH, and he cant just expect us to trust him/it. If he wants to go big he should work on more transparancy.
