If I feel a GM has been inadequate and their manner rude to whom would I go to? I have been back and forth with a GM for 2 weeks about a skillpoint problem and he refuses to clarify his responses to me or answer any of my questions, his vocabularly consisting of little beyond the words Sorry, I, cannot, help and you. |

Escalate the petition to get a decent GM to take a look at it. The quality of the GM staff isn't exactly constant and they have their noobs too.

I have told this GM I want to do so and he has said there is no option for me to pursue any sort of escalation.

In that case if you really felt the gm was genuinely rude and unhelpful then make a petition on the gm in question. Even the staff can have a bad day.

You might aswell just quit eve after making this thread.
You are doomed now.

Unless he is a senior GM, he is lying to you.
Demand he escalate it to a senior GM - nicely of course. ;) *** You're only as good as your last fight. |

This right here is where I think the majority of 'bad gm' poasts come from when they emorage a huge petition filled with angst and insults over 5 lost drones when the server borked then wonder why it takes months to get it solved or that the gm isn't all sunshine and rainbows with his reply. Whats that olde saying? Garbage in. Garbage out?

Edited by: Jenaveve Rosseau on 04/01/2010 17:23:23 Well, this thread isn't to discuss my petition. It's to find out what my options are concerning the GM and what to do next.
The GM isn't a lead GM but says he consulted with one.
I have been very polite with the GM and he has been disrespectful and rude to me. I had to ask him 3 times to please explain the reason for his decision and he has yet to answer me beyond "because we said so" essentially. His language is curt and abrupt and frankly his attempt at helping me seemed lackadaisical at best. I am very disappointed.

Can you tell us what you petitioned about? Just from your side mind as any disscussion of moderation of said petition will get the thread locked.

Well, apparently I missed the part that said you can't discuss petitions on the forums. So, I'd rather stick to discussing my options as to how to best get my petition addressed rather than discuss any specifics.
At this point it isn't even the issue so much as how my petition has been handled, or rather, mishandled. Yes, I'd like to see a decision in my favor, but that is no longer my primary concern.

I rather suspect that we'd give him the same answer as the GM, only more so.

That may very well be the case, but it is irrelevant. I'm not here to whine that my petition was denied. I'm here to find out if I have any options beyond what this one particular GM is telling me.
If I may ask, how can you give more of the same answer?

Yes, if you have escalated the petition to a senior/lead GM and you believe they are being rude, internal affairs is the place to contact. They are nice guys.
But try with a senior/lead GM first.

You may also want to consider that this is the company that told us to HTFU :) What I'm saying is, that maybe your perception of "rude" may not be the same as CCP's. Not saying they are rude bastards or anything, but they might not be the kind of guys to sugarcoat everything for you. Another thing to consider: A foreigner's not-so-100%-perfect english can easily be perceived as rude, especially in text. Happened to me quite a few times on various forums and I'm the kind of person who walks grandma over the street irl.
Anyway, good luck with your petition. Hope it's worth the effort - everyone's. -

Yuggoth is one of the GMs to stay away from. He uses nothing but vague, cookie-cutter canned responses and never properly investigates the issues that I petition. You need to find some way to get your petition reviewed by a senior GM, or at least someone else who isn't the one giving you a hard time. ___

Let's assume the GM actually was rude. The interesting question is, was he more rude or less rude to you than you were to him?

If you feel dissatisfied with the performance of a GM, I'd begin by asking for another GM, and if you feel that one is unsatisfactory as well, I'd ask for escalation.
And if you think the GM is really, really terrible and wish to file a formal complaint against him, file a petition under "Gamemasters & ISD".

Do these petitions go to different people than the normal GM staff? Because I remember using that once and the GM I complained about was the same one that insta-closed my petition about him under that category and i was all like lolwtf
