I proposed the implementation of a working bounty hunter profession at the CSM Assembly Hall (klick on the link in the signature, please).
I kindly ask the pirates to post their whines here, and all the others to support the proposal in the Assembly Hall.
Thank you!

Easy! Have all pirates get their bounties deducted from their own bankroll when killed and the original player bounty money goes to concord. <- Enough griefing inflicted for it to be a major incentive. Please re-size your signature to the maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

Wait, so if people disagree then they post here but if they agree they can post in the thread which actually matters?

Unfortunately not that easy. In that case, I would never have more then a few hundred ISK on my bankroll as a pirate.

CCP recently got rid of freeform, there's no reason to give people yet another useless feature.

Open Overview settings Set people with bounty to be flashy. Some flashy colour you won't mistake with flashy flashy people. (Yes that makes sense. Probably more if you're good friends with Mr. J. Daniels.) Kill. (Hopefully) Lose ship from CONCORD, but with any luck take the flying paycheque with you. Vigilantism's bad, mmkay? ???? Profit. You DID insure, right?
Working as intended etc.

Honestly when I first started EVE I really thought doing the whole bounty-hunter thing would be pretty awesome.
And really, I still think it's a pretty good concept. The problem with it is that, if you have a really high bounty (or even a smaller bounty such that the size of your bounty exceeds the cost of your clone + implants) you can just have a buddy or an alt pod yourself and collect your own bounty.
That or you can just use your massive bounty as an e-peen size increaser, and just sit there looking at it while not undocking / logging in / leaving hi-sec.
The only way for it to work well is if CCP implemented bounties more as contracts and less as simply some ISK whoever happens to pod you can collect. Note though: freeform contracts were stupid, and were only ever used for (usually pretty stupid) scams (note that I, as a pirate, do wholeheartedly support scamming in general though).

so you think that pirates and criminals are going to whine about getting some real opposition?
you are silly
plus i don't think you can do it perhaps if ccp implemented it for you and held your hand every step of the way
because the bounties are already there
try searching for them, hunt them down and pod kill them the bounty hunter asspect of the game already exists..........its just too hard for you
and as usual when faced with a aspect of the game which involves risk...the carebears seek to change the game.
EVE has this already.............its just not easy enough for you

You don't get sec hits for doing dastardly things to outlaws, isn't that enough of a bounty hunter profession for the sandbox? *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

Hmm, I like that.
[License to kill]

Here's the central issue:
Most "pirates" are -10 sec status. They can be shot and killed by anyone, anywhere. Why bounties are needed is beyond me. I can't open my killrights tab or it will crash Eve. Please re-size your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

So if they are bright red and near me I can take a swing at them without getting blown out the sky from Concord or do I have to wait till they are flashing red then in the overview?

Hmmm ... I think it would help if some of the pilots posting here would actually read the proposal.
But well ...
