Ok so im a returnng player. I wanted to make a new alt, so i clickt on the empty box and loaded up the tool. But now im stuck. There is no information on the diffrent race/ancestry/bloodline. All there is is some lame story text about some thing that happend in the past and som general information. I want stats! If i pick this what bonus to perception will i get, what skills will i start with and so on. I remeber the god old days when you could get all that information but now there is nothing. There is no info in the player guide and looking at the forums gave me nothing. How can i create a char with out this information. Please help me find the information i need.

You get the same attributes and skills as everyone else setting up a new char. You also get TWO free remaps immediately so that you can change your attributes to your liking. Besides, you get double training speed for the first 1.6 mil sp.

Yes, race and such doesn't matter. You get 2 free attribute remaps, then another one every year after you use your last one.
Attributes ONLY affect how fast you train and nothing else.
Charisma is used by: * Corporation Management skills * Leadership skills * Social skills * Trade skills It is still the least important attribute, so most people set it to 5 (the minimum).
I recommend getting EVEmon and EFT, building a skill plan for the ships you want to pilot, and optimize the learning of those skills. The Skill forum might be a better place to look for suggestions on how to do that.

Yeah, I think someone lists them in that other thread. Everyone starts off with the same attributes and mostly the same skills, the only difference is in which factional frigate you have a couple of levels trained in.
They changed that a while back. I think the idea was that new people had so little idea what they were doing while being asked to make decisions that were going to effect the characters traits for the rest of it's existence that they just simpled it all up.
They also took away most of the skill points you were given but doubled the amount of training you did for the first 1.6 million skill points.
A lot of people use that doubled up training speed to plow through their learning skills relatively quickly.
One thing you lost though was the ability to go back and change your characters appearance ...
It used to be - that you would get to see the in game portrait of your character before you were finished. Now you don't. The problem is that when it shrinks down the full screen image you were working with the thing the computer comes up with can be pretty fuggly. What you can do now - is to create another character on that same account - then swap portraits between the two characters - then delete (if you want) the new character with the old portrait. This - is not nearly as good as it used to be - as you can end up creating and deleting multiple characters before you get one with a portrait you're satisfied with - and with a 10 hr cooling off period before you can bio mass a character, so you can use the slot again, that can take some time. Not nearly as functional as simply selecting "back" and changing the portrait when you didn't like the way it looks.
With Ambulation/Walking in Stations coming "soon" now ... don't look for them to fix that.
