With all the scams we hear about, I figure you could all do with a tale with a much happier ending.
I log on today to find my mailbox blinking, unsurprising as there's a number of corp votes going on. I accidentally hit my mail and see that there's an unread message to me privately entitled 'Thank you'.
Expecting to hear some tale of a pilot hitting hard times who just HAS to let their Guardian Vexor go for way below market if I trade with them right now, I was muchly suprised to find this:
Quote: Hi Calli When I was a noob u gave me 1.5 mill - I would like to return it - with a little interest - and my thanks. Take Care
I check my wallet, expecting a shave over 1.5mil to have hit it and find instead 15,000,000ISK donated.
To the pilot, my many thanks, the ISK is never given with the expectation of being repaid, but that it was is a remarkable testiment to your character and inginuity. May you continue to find ever greater wealth in New Eden.
The ISK will be spent on another batch of mining fit Ospreys which will be donated to new players this weekend.
Turns out there ARE people out there who will return 10x your ISK ;) Astronautical Engineering - T1 BPC Store - Now recruiting |

When I started playing Eve back in '04, some kind soul in a mining Raven helped me mine my first can of Veld to get me started. I netted a couple mil, just enough to upgrade my mining ship and get some skills. I still remember telling them that I was warping to station cuz I was full, and having them reveal to me the magic of Jet Can Mining. Simpler Times.
Since then, I've repaid that debt several times. Not to the one who helped me, as I'm afraid to admit I had forgotten their name. But to other newer players, to corpmates and alliance mates. I would never call myself an Philantrophist, but it was satisfing giving back.
That being said, realize that most people are worthless ponds****and will probably scam you. This is Eve, afterall!

Back when i was playing SWG, Pre-CU, I once gave someone 50k Credits after he asked in "local". He immediately sent me back 50mil, which was a good amount.

I got a wole bunch of laser crystals from some guy, who said he wanted to quit eve. Al lot of faction and t2 stuff.
I can't fir them yet so i don't know if they are all as good as dead or still useable. i estimated them at around 50mil, if they aren't as good as used up that is. I then went to the noob channel (was still a member then) and gave some million isk away myself. Gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
In the far away future, when i light my cigars with 1 million isk bills, i will certainly do it again.

Same here, and mostly people from the Swedish community in Eve Online. But never have they repaid me!
Nice to see some love in Eve <3 -

I remember, 50mil was a hell of a lot there and back then.
