Was talking to a corpmate the other day, who stated that the only way to obtain Faction loot or Officer loot is via rare spawns in Asteroid Belts?
Is this true?
Does that mean even after 100+ missions, the only nice loot you may obtain will be Meta 4 items?

no, faction spawns in pirate plexes will drop faction loot, too.

essentially, yes.
(a few missions can contain ships that drop faction loot according to eve-survival, but that's the exception rather than the norm)

I rarely loot, most of times is garbage and the reprocessing/selling routine is annoying. Dang, its just better to use that time for more killing. Guristas bounties ftw!
Only God may know if I skipped an Estamel Invul (tenths of billions) but I live with that...
My suggestion anyway is that you should loot lvl4 missions, at least take a look on battleship wrecks and bosses and scoop the big guns, usually 500k-1m a piece.

0.0 offers rare loot, faster isk/hr on rat bounties, better ore, free for all pvp....
Maybe I'm missing a key part here.

Standings, LP, and rig components.
With a 8.0 standing with any NPC corp you can install jump clones without have to go to that one place in 0.0 everytime.
With Higher standings, you get perfect refine on ores, and I think lower manufacturing and research costs.
Not to mention cheaper Faction ammo and mods vs buying on the market.

Maybe it's just me but I find that as long as the missions are good I can make more money running missions then ratting in 0.0. The only time that fails is when I the mission rats have no bounties.
