I am no kill joy, but I hate this time of year...
No it is not the ridiculous amount of fake Christmas cheer, It is Children in Need on BBC1. Yep for the past few weeks people have been doing inane tasks to raise some money for a worthy cause attached to an absolutely crap television program. Tasks such as bake bean sitting or having all your hair cut off or just acting a nob.
Most people in the UK will have been approached by people collecting at roundabouts on the bus or ferry or been roped into some ridiculous task by their boss and if you are like me you will be looking forward to tomorrow when this drivel is finally over.
Children in Need is 7 hours of the most mind numbing television, which is neither funny nor entertaining and what is worse is that it is regionalised, so you get to watch local crap such as a scout choir singing or a bloke not doing stunts on a motorbike or an unconvincing transvestite.....and that is just my local region (my wife says that I should support it as it is for the kids) but I would rather gouge my eyes out.
Now I have had a chat with some of my corp mates and they tell me that they feel the same about this rubbish, but waht do other Evers think?

Edited by: The Daddy on 20/11/2004 01:01:06 I try not to, just can't believe it has been going for 25 years and we pay a licence fee for this
Besides it is not just the watching, it is people trying to get cash out of you no matter where you try and hide!

As Daddy already pointed out, we don't watch it. We do however, pay for it. The BBC just spend allot of money on crap like this - and guess who foots the bill.
