I've read, experienced, and been told conflicting information on when a wormhole site will despawn. Some say it is when you scan it down, some say it's when you warp to it, and I've noticed that they disappeared after scanning 100%.
Does anyone know the actual details? If I scan down a combat site to 100%, will it despawn in a set (3-5days) period of time or do I need to warp to it. If I scan out a site but do not get it to 100%, does the timer still start or does it stay until someone finds the actual wormhole site.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would guess: If you visit a site and touch anything it could despawn in mins/hours, but otherwise if you just scan it down it won't go until it's timer of a few days is up, though you may have caught it at any phase of this. Afterwards it'll reappear in another system, and you'll be waiting for other sites to be touched/left to respawn in the system you're in.
Basically despawning because of just scanning to 100% doesn't sound right.

I can solidly confirm that simply scanning to 100% does not cause a despawn on any reasonable time scale. At one point I scanned down a whole bunch of sites on an alt (all sites to 100%) but didn't warp to any (it was to bookmark em to make any new sites in system glaringly obvious)
Didn't touch the alt for a week. Came back and doubled checked expecing to have a whole system of new sites.
These same sites were mostly there 7 days later. Only a 2-3 out of like 20 had disappeared and there were only a similar number of new sites.

Edited by: Space Scooterman on 06/01/2010 19:42:53 The despawn timer begins when you warp to the site, aka spawn the site. Before then, it's just a signature.
I have had sites despawn between me getting them to 100% and warping to them.
You really never know how long the sites have left, but if you scan every couple hours (assuming you live in a WH system) you get a good idea of how the sites work and can figure out exact times (if you don't clear the sites that is, which is why I can't provide exact times )

Edited by: Canute Minealot on 06/01/2010 23:30:17 There is no differnce between K-Space and W-Space.
- 7 days lifetime generell - 3 days lifetime after someone activate the site (Warp to it, even if he abbandon the warp). - Despawn at Downtime, if someone start the Site (killed rats) but didn't finished it. - Despawn after all player warped out, after the last wave, activate the Trigger, or open any container (Hacking,Archaeology, salvaging).
