Are there any plans on implementing Tier 2 dreads? I thought it would be a nice idea since there are T2 Carriers (motherships).

Tier 2 is completely different from T2. Tier 2 is like an apoc compared to a geddon while T2 is a redeemer compared to a geddon. Tier 2 dreads could happend, but I doubt T2 dreads will, at least any time soon.

I guess even if T2 dreads will be implemented, it will be a bit awkward to use them commonly, they will be first targets, unless they will have some insane tank. But looking at the price of normal dreads (1.2b for hull more or less) I really doubt anyone will be willing to pay 5-6 times as much for a t2 version... Although, who knows. But it would be a gigantic hit if you lose one - insuarance wouldn't cover like 6b of hull loss. It could be a tool in the hands of small pirate gangs raiding pos in low sec where they really have a lot of isk and little numbers, or like in the huge, huge alliances like goons where they wouldn't really care about the losses.
I would love to see them though, but balancing them would be a pain, as with all capitals. They can't even balance the mom, so why should we count on T2 dreads? And besides, about TIER, not TECH... The titan is sort of a tier 2 dread you could say... It would be as close as calling the mom a tier two carrier... I know that the mom requires the same skills, but still, calling it a tier two carrier hurts me.

This. Just like the Rokh/Abaddon/Hyperion/whatever-that-piece-of-duct-tape-is-called are Tier 3 battleships, but T3 battleships are going to be based on subsystems.

i guess i should post tired. anyway he used t2 dreads as title. and most people dont use T2 as abbreviation for tier 2 but for tech 2. hence my confusion.
