This question has been bugging me. Do people make skill books? Or can you only loot them? Im sure is a combo of both. But I would like to know.

Skills books are a NPC item and you can buy them at NPC stations.

You can get some with lp, but most are bought directly from npc's

players can't make skill books, however, some social social skill books can be traded by LP at the LP stores.

They can also drop from NPCs and NPC structures (explorations and missions).

My Minmatar slaves sit in darkened rooms and copy them out by hand and that's how they get to the market.

how about the gang mindlinks?
there aren't any for sale in LP stores, and there aren't any BPCs for them. NPCs also don't sell them. so where do they come from?

Any idea which missions/factions? I've done shedloads of Matar and Gallente missions without getting any. |

What are you talking about? All of the Leadership skills are sold by NPC's. You just need to go to the right region to buy it. (Hint, if you are looking for the Mining Director skill book, try the Outer Ring region.)
If you are looking for implants, try storyline mission rewards or faction NPC loot. |
