I'd try EvE WalletAware; downloadable from :- Here.
It hasn't got some of the bells and whilstles from EMMA but by the same token lacks some of the "frustration" that EMMA often brings too, but it works and is well supported by the developer with updates etc...

It's nowhere near to be complete (that's why there's no official linkage from EWA's main page yet), but could help you in getting EWA up and running.
But comparing EMMA and EWA is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. They both take a different approach in how they manage/present data. Simply try both (or even more, have a look at the sticky) and see which one fits your needs best ... or use both.

The only EMMA function I've found irreplaceable is the order alert system. They've added something like this recently to eve-mon but I haven't messed with it yet.
Of course EMMA never quite worked with corp orders so I only run personal orders.

No, at least not the way I think you'd like to do it: permanently "link" both chars together.
However, with EWA you can use one of its following options to achieve something similar:
- Export (almost) any grid's contents to a text file or Excel (97) file (and do your own stuff with it).
- (Permanently) Move data from one char to another char.
- Export/import data from one EWA installation to another.
And, it's "EWA" or "EVEWalletAware", if I may say so ...
