Oscillation Overthruster

I am of the mind that it would be fun to go to Ingunn, Decon or a few other places where very obvious macro mission runners operate and spend me days popping and podding these machines.
To that end, a little advice is sought. First, what is the range of those pesky station and gate guns? That information will be useful for setting up the ship I end up using.
I would like to site just outside the range of those silly guns in a sniper ship with fast locking scripts and long range ammo. The idea is, courier undocks, I lock and pop it, and then the pod, from a good distance.
Call it a social experiment bred from pure winter boredom.
And what ship type?
Long range missile boat? Long range Matar arty boat? I heard those got quite the alpha buff this last go-round.
Any ideas welcome.

depending on the courier ship type you are looking to kill, you could just go with a smartbombing battlship and just blow them up as they undock. my personal favourite is to take a fast locking battle cruiser and sit on the gate and just point and shoot them as they align to warp. in some cases a couple of buddies with remote repair mods and remote sensor boosting will be of great benefit.
join a pirate corp, they know all the ins and outs of this sort of thing. _________________________________________________ Aurora Security is recruiting our wiki page |

Sentry guns are 150 km, if I'm not mistaken. I also think that's 150 km from the object they're guarding, but I'm not certain. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Supposedly sentries are limited to 150km, but I've heard tell of hits striking up to 160km. Plan for that and you should be ok. --------- War isn't the answer. However, the objective isn't to provide answers rather than eliminate the question. |

150km from center of whatever they protect. So if you manage to be say 140km from center of something yet 180km of the sentries you will be hit. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |
