Lets say the EVE gate turned out to be a portal, not only through space, but through time, how could anyone know that? So the EVE world actually takes place in the past, by the time humans where starting to discover fire.
Know imagine an explorer ship of one of the Empires, maybe Amarrian, that gets stranded in space and finds its way to the primitive Earth, without any knowledge or clue as to how Earth originally was the crew of the ship think they found an unprotected colony and decide to make a residence there.
They conquer all tribes and began to star a new civilizacion... That civilizacion turns out to be Egipt and goes to inspire other civilizacions to rise as well around the world, the original crew of the ship is long dead by then and their descendants rapidly forget how to use their forefathers technology and as such is lost, especially because most of it is used on buildings and such.
The rest as they say is history. *mindblow*

first came the super nova, then the condensation of materials, then the planets, then the strugle to be on the right place at the right time, then the water, then the ingrdients for life, then simple cells, then more complex cells, then the first ever animals who needed to reproduce, then the egg, then the evolved animals, and so on.

Since the EVE gate was, like, a wormhole, that meant it also could manipulate time!
Day 1, Sol System: EVE Gate collapses.
Day 2, New Eden: EVE Gate collapses.
Day 2 to Now, New Eden: See New Eden history.
Now, New Eden: EVE Gate reopens due to Concord voodoo magic!
Tomorrow, New Eden: People go in.
Day 2, Sol System: New Eden natives enter Sol System at day 2. Both are wtf'd.
It's possible that what seems thousands years for us is just a day for them!

As energy and matter condense into what are referred to as quantum singularities, the natural state of time-space becomes consolidated. Think of it like quantum foam, where all time and space coexists. In fact, coexist, is a misleading term, as it implies external existence in close proximity, where as quantum foam is the realization of all time and space in an omnipresent state. (Heavy, I know)
Therefore, it is quite reasonable to think that a wormhole (separate locations in time-space manifesting this omnipresent foam state simultaneously) could deposit travelers at any location in any time. But they would have to survive being omnipresently overlapped and entwined with all of the first 4 dimensions of existence (i.e. become a higher dimensional being).

Ok so time, People from Sol find new eden, eve gate collapses after so many of them pass through, Empires of New Eden eventually rise up to what we know now, by some chance someone gets lost and finds their way to to Sol at a time before they entered the Eve gate, or for that matter even existed, they settle, People of Sol rise up, and then eventually enter the Gate to New Eden...
mind boggling loop, but what happened to the New Eden Empires? because i gather there was no trace of them existing when new eden was settled...

Sadly, the EVE gate was not discovered in the Sol system (unless that's been retconned recently). The other issue to consider would be that, in order to create such a paradox, there would have to be two wormholes if my memories of basic grandfather paradoxes is halfway as good as it used to be.
Good effort though.
