I would like some clarification over the mechanic for who gains ownership of wrecks of rats. Is it the first person to attack the rat, the person who does most damage to it, or the person who lands the killing blow?
I have been in some hisec contested plexes recently and been involved in a couple of races to kill the Overseer, but haven't noticed any logical pattern to who ends up with the wreck at the end. |

No idea how it works in EVE. Normally in MMO's the first hit gains ownership to mob/loot, though some older ones relied on a most damage done mechanic. |

You are not incorrect. It is most damage done. Easy to verify.

It is worth noting that if you can get to the wreck before your competition you can loot the wreck and warp off long before they could kill you. Unless, of course they have a Point in which case you'll have some real competition on your hands. |

I think it is the final blow. Bounty goes to the Final Blow (when not fleeted). Escalation of plex's go to the Final Blow. Sec status goes to Final Blow. |

i've toyed with the idea of fitting a point on my tengu just to ruin someones day when they try to ninja my loot.

Killing blow if I am not mistaken. Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you. |

It's most dmg done, unless plexes are different from Incursions or missions. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

Seems like the definitive answer is not yet definitive :)

Can your Tengu with a point keep up with my overheated MWD Legion to keep me pointed? Or kill me before I align and warp out? Hehehehe :)
I have been crashed a couple of times and always seem to lose the wreck. I have got to the wreck first on both occasions to find junk loot, but I always go in with the idea of grabbing it and GTFO if it is any good. I don't expect other explorers to be tackle fit, but I do worry about it at the time, especially when facing Lokis with their abundance of mid slots and their innate speed.

Final blow decides, just like bounty (if not in fleet) and sec stat hits. |
