So I finished training my salvaging skill to level V.
So...
25% chance from skills 65% chance from Salvager II (it is what is written for me in-game, in item database it's actually 7%). 10% chance from Salvage Tackle I
So assuming I use Salvager II, it means I have 90% chance to successfully salvage if there's something. So I would only need one salvage tackle to get 100% chance.
Does it really work that way?

Open fitting window. Look at fitted salvager info. EFT works too.
Bonuses from multiple sources nearly always are multiplicative, not additive.

It's 7% per level from skills (5*7%=35%) on Salvager II (would be 5% per level for Salvager I, for 25% total from skills) plus 10% for each salvage tackle I (3*10%=30%) for 65% total. The showinfo on the salvager shows the actual, total salvage chance.

Edited by: Shadowy Assistant on 09/01/2010 07:52:36 Salvagers have a base salvaging chance
T1 salvagers have a base salvaging chance of 5% * Salvaging Level. T2 salvagers have a base salvaging chance of 7% * Salvaging Level.
At level V Salvaging, a T2 Salvager offers a 35% salvaging chance. Each Salvage Tackle rigs adds 10% to this chance, so you'll get a total of a 65% Salvaging chance with 3 T1 Salvage Tackle rigs.
Of course, I suspect other factors come in, such as the type of wreck and its associated difficulty, and that the 65% is not a true 65% chance of success. It may be higher or lower depending on what you're salvaging.
