Unbelievable this was made for only $300 (not counting equipment such as his camera or his time). Supposedly someone has nabbed the guy to make a full length feature film for $30 million as a result.
Pretty cool...check it out:

Awesome vid. Anyone else feel the music sounded like some from HL2? Or was it 28 weeks later?

The song is "In the house, in a heartbeat" I believe from 28 Days/Weeks Later. Awesome song. And that video is pretty cool.

Looks like the Aion are attacking with a bunch of t1 fighters and three galactic collosus.
Still pretty damn cool for $300.

The guys who did all the modeling, animation and compositing did all the heavy lifting in that piece. That's nice that the director picked up a project, but what about the rest of the guys? -- Bellum Eternus Inveniam viam aut faciam.

I thought this came up in these forums but I must be mistaking the thread from another forum since I can not find it on EVE search.
But the rumored producer is none other then Sami Rami.
If this is true I have high expectations for this movie
If you do not know who Sami Rami is then I am not real sure what to say

Did you even read your own links?
Quote: The movie will be sponsored by director Sam Raimi, whose credits include the Spiderman and Evil Dead films.

Are you saying that you do not like his work?
If this is the case then bah
If you think that a writer, director, producer, and actor of Rami's capacity would not get lead or secondary producer credits for being the "sponsor"?

I thought it was pretty cheese, well done but still cheese. Where is the logic in having 3 clearly superior robots tear everything up only to merge and become a bomb? That's not cost-efficient at all and what about if the humans for some reason managed to stop one of the robots, what then, no bomb?
Right up the alley of that M Night Jambalaya.

It's less then five minutes and it has huge plot holes, but it is very cool none the less but it seems the cool factor had very little to do with the director. Originally by: Bellum Eternus The guys who did all the modeling, animation and compositing did all the heavy lifting in that piece. That's nice that the director picked up a project, but what about the rest of the guys?
Well one must assume that the director would go back to them or at least give them first bid in any project he runs. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

Good grief...
The movie is 4 minutes long with no dialog. Give the thing a break.
We see many fighters flying overhead so I think we can presume there is a much bigger force attacking than just four (yes four...count 'em) robots attacking. Not least because I would think giant robots choosing to attack Montevideo more than a little odd. Nothing against that city but one would think there are a lot of better choices to be had around the world. As such I would think these things are all over the world.
One might suppose any race that can build giant, killer robots could build a nuke perhaps the aliens (or whatever) do not want an irradiated city (or world if they are all over the place). They also want a dead city. Giant robots can certainly bash the city up pretty good but the vast majority of people will get away. One big bomb and it is all over for that city and a majority of the people there. Repeat that worldwide and the aliens could wipe out a significant portion of humanity in short order (most of the world's population lives in urban areas). On that basis not a bad trade.
Anyway, I see it more as a, "Look what I can achieve with practically no money!" On that basis it is amazing what was done on a shoestring budget and presumably nothing more special than a camera and a desktop computer.

The three robots are a metaphor.
One is Jerry Bruckheimer. One is Michael Bay. The third is a very determined and budget-oriented South American. Do I smell the most profitable summer move ever? _ |
