Hello All
I have noticed that of late I dont always enjoy a possitive sec bonus for killing mission rats. My understanding was that you where awarded the best bonus every 15 minutes in any given system.
It got me thinking that I dont actually know the dynamics behind this process and wondered if any of you can tell me why sometimes I get a bonus and others I dont? Is there a scale? just how does the game work out when and what? I am also interested in the neg sec status
Any ideas?
Thanks

The best pirate NPC you kill every 20 minutes gives you the bonus. Jumping systems starts a new 20 minute timer which is why people bounce from system to system killing one battleship per system (assuming that mechanic still works...I think it does). Rouge Drones don't give you sec FYI since they're not pirates. ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

Thanks for the reply,
I am sure that the 20 minute rule and the change system work, but I know that over the last few days I have not been getting a plus sec status for killing rats suck as angles and mordus in every mission.
Example, today I logged on did a mission that involved killing Zor. I finished the mission and was on for over 45 minutes but never received any sec bonus for Zor (highest priced bounty for that mission) Or and other bountied rat

-E- You don't receive sec status increase for all NPCs in missions. Not sure if this counts for Zor as well, but I do know that killing Empire faction NPCs wont give you sec status, just like certain named ones don't either.

AFAIK only rats with names like Sansha or Angel etc give the sec raise.
Mission generics like Mercs and Mordus (EOM) don't

I've killed half a gazzillion billion red crosses, everything from Battleships to Interceptors, but my sec status never moves. It has been 5.0 for months now.

I know that there are ways to get above 5.0 but it involves caldari and amarr space and 2 missions both are very hard, but I still think there is something more to how the normal security status is managed
I would love to see a table or graph if anyone got something?

Years ago I hit 5.3 with nothing but lots of ratting in Period Basis. Once I hit 5.0 though, the increase dropped dramatically and it took a long time to get the extra .3. ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

These days sec status doesn't increase (at all) after one hits 5.0 - at least not from killing pirate NPCs. There are the misterious 2 missions for CONCORD that can rise you beyond 5.0 and some 10/10 complexes also give a sec stat boost upon completion (I think).
As for which mission rats give sec stat ... it's all controlled by the Jove! Some do give sec stat, some don't. It's not about the type of space (deadspace/regular space) of the mission pocket or the naming sheme of the NPCs. Although, one thing that is certain is that Drones, Mercs, EOM don't ever give sec stat - as stated before.

As this page shows it is clearly possible to get above 5.0 - but it does seem to be a magic number and by the looks will take a huge effort to do so.
