Edited by: Amarula on 23/11/2004 09:42:18 I'm very intrigued about this anonymous release by an Amarr of 2746. Did she take part in the liberation too?
At least this shows that not all Amarr are a bunch of arrogant baldies who hate Minmatar / murdering slavers who smell of perfume / religious fanatics with no sense of humour (were the slaves singing that song in the cargo holds, by any chance? ) ---------------

My bretheren freedom fighters and other free Matari.
My heart weeps tears of joy for the liberation of over 25,000 souls that were doomed to a life of miserable servitude. You all have my gratitude and my respect.
To the Amarrian who free'd slaves too, thank you.
They build. I fight. You pray. |

I have heard reports of massive death tolls of both Amarrian traders and slaves in their care. While these terrorists may have liberated 24,000 slaves on this occasion rest assured this act of criminal trechery will not go unpunished. I am certain an equal number were killed in these blood thirsty attacks.
To reaffirm the commitment of Amarrians such as myself to enlighten the beasts I have purchased 5,000 new slaves in Pator and will the transporting them to my home in Amarr on Sunday. I have placed a tentative order for an additional 10,000 but my modified slaver bestower only holds 12,000 maximum although I'm sure they would fit in the cargo hold.
So free what you may. Rest assured Amarr does not sleep and we will not abandon our sacred duty of enlightening the masses of barbarians.

Congratulations. You have made more slave traders richer. Whether they ply their trade in Pator or Amarr, the people you brought are still slaves, the only difference is where they are sold.
But thank you for highlighting the injustice of our Republics regime yet again. I fail to see the point of this tho? All you are doing is moving slaves from one spot to another and making slavers richer? In fact, you have moved them to a region we are able to attack and subsequently they have more chance of being freed.
All you have proven is your love for the slave trade. A fact everyone here is more than aware of.

Edited by: Kostantin Mort on 24/11/2004 01:22:06 Edited by: Kostantin Mort on 24/11/2004 01:21:01 You assume that we are going to move them around all the times, like lost sheep looking for a shepard. Unfortunately, both you and I know that most slaves don't move around at all, remaining in the same planet until the end of their days, gloriously helping us to keep our noble empire standing until the end of time itself. For that, I almost admire the slaves and a part of me almost yearns back to the days when I was enslaved. I was then but a mere child...
Enough reminiscing.
You know full well that the small number of slaves you released into poverty and starvation are just a mere drop in the ocean, an insubstantual part. Not even the afflicted slave traders will be affected overly and it will take them a matter of days to recoup their losses. I'm sure that the slaves, when they are diying in the street of Pator, will be glad to know that they have been just used as political pawns in the terror campaign that you dispicable "freedom fighters" are fighting.
As for the souls that Brother Archbishop will redeem. The slaves will no doubtly be joyous that they are brought back to the road of salvation and a safe home, and I'm sure that as soon as they reach Amarr, they will dutifully fall back to their duties as servants of our almighty God. ------

Careful Archbishop, you're going to need a strong escort to handle the Republic Navy while you haul these slaves out.
I'm sure PIE can handle it tho

Edited by: Demiurge Ialdaboth on 24/11/2004 01:42:47 I see I am listed for the liberation of 1,161 slaves, I can only take credit for 500. My team consisted of Sky Rodgers and Tomas Bailey and together we freed many of our brothers and sisters throughout Amarr and Khanid space before Rodgers and Tomas were forced to disband from our group and I continued on my own.
My heartfelt thanks go out all who participated. You are truly worthy children of Matar.

Edited by: Ori Womble on 24/11/2004 03:11:26 Bleary eyed and looking somewhat worse for wear, Ori stared at the monitor in front of him. It seemed to be more of the usual; reports of what happened, followed by a swift rebuttal by the "champions of the Empire". It was only because he had plenty of time on his hands, and little enough sleep to make him short-tempered, that he swung the keyboard out and began to type.
To those think we achieved nothing - and I'm looking at you deluded P.I.E. types, I'm afraid - let me tell you this. To you, they are simply a statistic. To the brave people who freed them, they are twenty five thousand people, all deserving of freedom, which we happily give to them. They are our kin, and they will not be left behind.
To those people who freed our brothers and sisters, let me tell you this. I have never felt so proud in my life. I never thought that, when I stared up at the stars, I would one day be out there, making a difference.
To our kin who are still in enslaved by the Amarrian Empire, let me tell you this. You will be freed. Do not let your worthless "masters" tell you otherwise. Liberation will come, carried by the ships of the Republic, Khumaaks raised aloft.
He was about to type more, but it seemed that the engineers had finally finished working on installing the new weapons aboard the Tomsk III. After nearly three days of being stuck inside transport ships, Ori smiled at the thought of finally getting some trigger time in.

If the life of a slave is so wonderful under the watch of an Amarrian... why is Vitoc and Slave Hounds needed to force your precious beasts of burden to work?

There seems to be a misunderstanding.
Slaver hounds are used purely to protect the slaves from any wild animals or terrorists that might want to interfere with them, and vitoc is used to ensure that the slaves receive a healthy, balanced diet.

That's not what official records say you liar.
Originally by:
The droves of slaves needed to work the fields coupled with the high mortality rate means that elaborate methods of keeping the slaves in check, such as Vitoc, are not cost efficient enough to warrant their usage. Instead, the Amarrians employ slaver, sometimes referred to as slave-dog.
The agile slavers are quick to see or smell slaves that have ventured outside the fences and few can escape the slavers quick, merciless attacks. A preferred tactic of the slaver is to attack from above; for this it often lurks in high places, even trees, or by simply jumping many meters into the air and landing on their unsuspecting prey.

Edited by: Rodj Blake on 24/11/2004 09:55:48 Well, in my book, an escaped slave is a terrorist in the making, whom the other workers need protecting from. Someone deranged enough to try and give up the gift of enlightenment is obviously a danger to themselves and others.
And say what you like about vitoc, but I've noticed that the health of workers always seems to deteriorate when they are denied it.

Maggot returned to his work, opening a calibration and fitting model for a ship baring a Vronsky Bros manufacturing tag "VBS D0001". Maggot frowned as various configurations were attempted but finally seemed satisfied with his results.

The highlander cell unfortunatly were unsucessful in our targeted area's. It seemed as though the slavers of the area were alerted to our presence and were shipping nothing but livestock and manure.
We were able to find some targets, and were able to do a little damage to the ammarian weapons trade.
We wish would could have done more for the cause, but alas, it seemed that fortune was not smiling upon us, but upon many of our brethren.
oh well.
