My first 2 flights in the Typhoon were huge disappointments. I tanked just fine, but I can get better DPS from my Wolf. 260 volley points from 4 grouped dual 650mm howitzers? I can get close to 1000, often more, from my Hurricane. What about 180 volley points from a group of 5 dual 425mm acs?
I'm missing something skill-wise. What do the skills for an effective Typhoon pilot look like, and how much damage should I be doing per volley?

I seen many typhoons with 4x cruise missiles/torps and 4x 720mm howitizers, Afterburner, cap rechargers, , and armor tank and maybe 1 bcu or nanofiber aside from tank, and 5 heavy drones. give that configuration a try?

Torpedo ship? Raven Drone boat? Dominix
I thought we were Minmatar ...projectile guns, rusty armor plates attached with T2 duct tape...
/me grumbles and tries to figure out a new training plan for a different ship

You need all of them. The typhoon is the most skill intensive ship in the game, besides maybe a few capitals.
EDIT: To clarify you need: Torpedo related skills to V Autocannon related skills to V Drone related skills to V MWD/navigation related skills to V Armor tanking related skills to V Fitting skills to V Core support skills to V, though you might be able to skimp on cap related skills if you go for a buffer tank instead of active. ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |
