I hope that made sense ^
So if you were bound and determined to get the contents from an Orca at a belt, into the cargo bay of a freighter, instead of docking the Orca in a station, you can:
1. Warp Orca to POS 2. Drop contents in Corporate Hangar 3. Warp Freighter to POS 4. Open fittings window within 3000m of Ship Maintenance Hangar and Corporate Hangar 5. Open Corporate Hangar 6. Drag contents from hangar window to the cargo bay indicator in your fittings window 7. Profit?
If you had two Orcas in your gang, you could leave one on grid at all times, and ferry the other Orca back and forth between the POS and the gang at a belt, until the Freighter was full, but you'd have to have one heck of a gang to fill an Orca fast enough to merit the use of two Orcas instead of 1x Orca and another 1x Hulk at the belt in your gang.
In the end, IMHO, such a complicated procedure is not really necessary in Empire, with all the free stations to dock at sprinkled all over the place, and most of the belts containing largely the same ore from one system to the next and the difficulty in placing POS freely from one system to the next as the mining activity fluctuates over time from one area to the next, etc. etc. etc. IMO Orca at a belt, and a T2 Deep Space Transport that can haul 36k m3 at a time bouncing back and forth from Orca to station is more than enough for your average mining gang (6-12 people) in Empire.
And in 0.0 you can just use a Rorqual to do it all anyways FROM THE POS, from boosting the fleet, to compressing the ore, just have to have a single hauler like a Deep Space transport that can haul 30-40k m3 at once to continually ferry back and forth from a central location at a belt. _______________________________________________
