Ok, I'm deploying in April for four months and I'm trying to find some long skills so I don't need to log in and change during that time.
I don't think there are any skills that take four months long to train for, but I'm not sure. Plus I only have the remaining time til April to work up to those skills that would take that long.
So far I have planned:
Command ships lvl 5 Capital Energy Turret lvl 5
However I think even those two only last about a month or two each... I know there has to be some 120 day skills out there :P

Racial Titan V? I have never heard of a skill go much longer than 2 - 3 months tho... So, it is just a guess. -----------------------------------

My thoughts are to find someone and ask them to maintain you skill training while you are gone, be it a corp mate, family member or friend. Look me up in game if all else fails

use evemon
1) create an empty plan 2) in the skills browser panel choose Filter: Trainable Sort: Time to next level
it will tell all the skills u can train right now in order of length of time, u could setup a plan accordingly
if u will be able to log from time to time and/or have someone to do it for u use the filter "all" and setup a plan with pre-requisites that will take a long time to fulfill it will also tell u how much isk it will be needed to get the skills books for such plan

Account sharing is an EULA nono .Suggesting it in forums is also a nono by default
Your REAL mission during deployment (should you choose to accept it) is find 3 people with laptops , and get them hooked on EVE. "Show them your super cool game" and change a skill while letting them view the coolness .
Your contacts have been already been deployed . You wiil spot them by the laptops they carry with them . Your codeword phrase on introduction will be : "Do you play any online games ?" Good luck Jim . We're counting on you!

I'd agree with the poster above with finding someone with a laptop. Sadly skill training is often long...but in your case not long enough.
As an aside: Regardless of your origin/country/service I make a personal point of saying thank you for doing your part in our world with your deployment. Stay safe and see you ingame when you return.

You should have at least some sort of access available to you. Eve runs quite well off a USB stick, just copy the directory over. Any large patch might be a pain to DL.
Just to be on the safe side with passwords on a borrowed PC I'd throw some malware scanning tool on the USB too and scan the PC before use. |
