I'm trying to learn scanning and have hit a wall. I'm using 4 probes and have got the target down to a yellow point. I have the probes' scan range down to the lowest level and have all 4 probes' spheres intersecting on the yellow point yet I can't make it green. Since I can't reduce the scan range further, Im at a loss on what to do next to make it green.
Any insight into my problem?

train up scanning skills, get into astro frig/cov ops for bonuses, there are some sigs that you won't be able to scan with low skills without bonuses

OK, I guess I have another dumb question but the skill I was told to learn from the tutorial was astrometrics. I have that to three. What are some other skills I should learn? astrometrics seems to just increase the number of probes, not scanning strength.

To go further than skills, you can also puchase items to make it easier;
- Sister Core Scanner Probes
- sister Probe Launcher
- Ships that have bonus to scanning
- Grav Cap Rigs
- Cybernetic Implants
Adding these to the mix can also improve scanning down a ship or cosmic signature in space, they also come with a price of being ISK and time to learn them to use accordingly.

Depending on where you decided to learn scanning, the local signatures could be working against you. I have encountered some lowsec RADAR sites that require *all* of the following in order to be scanned down: Covert Ops 4, Scan strength skill 4, gravity rigs x 2 (on a Covert Ops), Sisters probes, and finally, a sisters launcher. Without every single one of the above items, there are some RADAR in lowsec that are just plain impossible to scan down.
Seriously, I found a 10/10 in nullsec that was easier to find than those...
