Could CCP please move Australia into a more suitable TZ. 4 hours directly out of our primetime is hard to handle and we would appreciate being moved closer to the EU TZ.

and how are they going to do that? attach a large engine to austrialia and move it nearer UTC+0???

In all seriousness it's really not so bad. EVE is probably the only MMO that can say "it suits all players worldwide" because EVE is the only one without localised servers.
I can think of other games that do far worse than an occasional extended downtime during peak hours...

its not because australia has a small percentage of players that DT is right in their prime time, it's because the techies at CCP dont want to work in the middle of the night

How is that relevent? He just gives a reasonable solution. We can practise by towing Friesland (dutch people know what i am talking about and will support it) into the atlantic ocean. When that works we can try towing australia closer to europe TZ.

If CCP moves Australia into another timezone, you will not only start the day some hours late regularly, you will also have issues getting stuck when exiting or entering busy buildings and will have to wait 30 seconds between using doors.
If that's ok with you, just ask CCP in a few years when their plan for world dominance comes to fruition. They can move anything anywhere then just by redefining how maps are drawn.

It is not up to CCP to decide what timezone Australia is in.
I think it is Betty2, but most likely she will take advice from the Aussie government, so you need to get lobbying them.

The process is already in place. Australia is slowly moving toward California and should reach the Pacific Time zone in a couple million years.

Where¦s the problem? I¦m direct opposite to you and DT hits GMT +1, which as far as i know should be in the middle of the night for you aussies. You should be in bed anyway.
Else, like postet above you have to wait some years till australia hits california.
Btw i wish it would be summer like you have, it¦s freakin -10 degree/celsius out there and i have to leave my warm office now for weekend. What a shame.
Hope at least the last thing did cheer you aussies up a bit!

It would be tough squeezing them up the Atlantic, but towing them up into the pond would be cool. Road trips to the UK anyone?
Alternatively, we could drag them up towards Hawaii. I think those guys would get along well.

Maybe CCP could relocate the Aussie players. Say, on a raft or something, and tow it over to the date line.
Throw a satellite dish on it for internet spaceship use and away you go. All 36 Australian EVE players will be happy campers.
