Hey all, want to get your opinions regarding a certain ship choice, choosing between 2 ships which as you can gather from the title are the Kronos & Proteus and before you say it yes i already have a tengu, i just want something different and now im living in serp space its a excuse to go back to my beloved gall ships. Ship would be for Null PVE, i generally do mostly anoms, some belt ratting and the odd plex here and there, whichever one would most definately be blaster fitted and fairly pimped out, opinions, comments, ty. How are your drone skills? The sentry ishtar is fantastic agaist serps and i havent run into a single serp plex it couldnt handle. I always kept 2 around, 1 set up with damage rigs which serverd for most complex's and a dual rep fit with tanking rigs for the high level DED plex's and the tougher anoms. Both were just simple T2 fits so no fancy faction mods either.
The only site i havent been able to full solo in the ishtar is the 8/10 DED plex because i didnt have the dps to crack the station and the end. (It seems to tank more then the 10/10 station!) |

Best money maker in the entire game in 0.0 serpentis. I did this for a year. Hyperion (T2 fit) actually works just as well if you want to try it first.. In executive outcomes, you must learn to use large blaster boats for extreme profit.
Kronos, Serpentis forsaken hubs (ONLY)
Highs: 4 Neutron Blaster IIs (Void or Null) 2 Large energy vampires (for fitting more tracking computers)
Mids: 4 Tracking computer IIs (switch scripts based on range)
Lows: Core A-Type Larger repper Core A-Type Thermic Hardener Core A-Type Kinetic Hardener 4x Fed Navy Mag stabs
And of course realize, it needs no prop mod. Get to the center of the spawn and kill everything before they get out of range.
Note: It only works if you have NULL ammo to kill cruisers that get out to 30k.
Consistent 110 million per hour, pure isk.
the deadspace mods are added just for comfort. They aren't necessary to succeed. Use Hyperion with T2 mods, remove vampires and use 2 TCs, 2 Cap Rechargers in mids.
Tengus are bad moneymakers in gall space.

With all that pimp just take a Vindi less tracking computers and more webs, increase your income significantly (if not double) brb |

Not to be an ass...but he said ''30km''.....even with the best faction webs + skirmish booster a web will not help at 30km on a vindicator....however, a Vindicator should do more dps in the same situation/fitting. |

im actually curious as to what you mean by that mate?
As for Vindi hmm..i actually used to use one in empire, the kronos repper bonus should work in its favour for PVE, i understand it may get larger ticks sometimes due to higher sheer dmg but saying itl double (or even increase significantly) is a claim i struggle to belive . I just mean that you have a lot of serp rats in your space, and a blaster boat is the best money maker.
I didn't use a vindicator because the rep bonus on the hyp and kronos made it more comfortable. It has a 12.5% damage bonus over the kronos. Kronos has 4 guns, using less ammo when firing tech 2.
Not that the vindicator would be a bad choice. I just had a kronos and not a vindicator. I originally bought it to salvage and kill at the same time (which works great in a forsaken hub).
The point I really wanted to get across was for these type of anamolies, use a well skilled blasterboat, not a tengu. Its about double the isk ( and I am specifically talking about forsaken hubs, not DED sites. For those, use a tengu :). |

Get a sick DPS boat for the harder Plexes. MWD to the named rat and melt it for all the money.
That's why blasters boats profit.
10 million (after ammo) is a waste of time for bounties. Kill the name rats or whatever causes them to spawn, loot, then run.
Killing/looting/salvaging IS better isk per site, but takes too long compared to finding another site and melting it. |

You don't fit a web to hold stuff at 30km, but to hold small web/scram rats or eventually someone showing up. An OH faction web on a Vindi makes all the difference between a guy landing on you and slowly help the rats killing you, or the guy landing on you and blow up before it can do whatever.
Tracking computer on a blaster vindi script range can be nice, but you've got the best tracking weapon system (snip) +25% range and tracking ammo all you need in mids is something to stop little rats from scram/web and make them easier to kill for your drones.
Not saying it's the best thing to do with, after all each one is free to loose his ships as he likes, it's just an opinion.

My alt uses a PVE Proteus. Cloaky/Nullified. It can go anywhere you want in null.
I use a rail fit so I can kite the bigger spawns untill they are manageable. Drones for the frigs if they get under my guns. I stock ecm drones and have a lot of confidence if one person is in local. I have been tackled in a site many times and switched drones, warped out.
Proteus wont do the damage of the BS, but it will let you jump gates without a scout.

Even on Kronos web or prop mod is prob better than 4th tracking comp, does it not provide about 2.5km extra range? |
