Does anyone from CCP know where TomB kept is old Nerfbat? I guess Tuxford needs a few more good swings from one of it's wielders.

Don't know which WoW you played but I seem to recall server crashes after almost every patch, maintenence days were you'd be lucky to log in at all due to the hamster running out of coffee.

really, it's not tuxford's problem that he's running his testserver inside emacs, and that ctrl-alt-escape-escape-c339 shuts down the REAL server, and not his testserver. it's just a feature of emacs.

... makes me wonder when they will stop drinking the MSSQL koolaid. This is getting to be a pattern.
I'd love some more information on the actual database issues. "Database issue" doesn't tell me anything - is it your fault, or some kind of DBMS problem instead? I'd like to blame the DBMS, not you...

What makes a "tuxford" different from a "D'oh!" is that you have to reboot the live server with a 60 second notice to save your work instead of a 30 minute notice, AND cancel the shutdown before it actually happens. If you accomplish a tuxford, expect constant and endless ridicule over your server administration skills, endless memes using your name amongst your user base, and including having your name used as an urbandictionary.com entry.
1. Tuxford accidentally the whole server.
2. It happened BECAUSE OF TUXFORD.
3. In CCCP, cluster restarts Tuxford.

I'm tempted to use that for a customer at work... see if they get it. It would be quite awesome if they did!
Customer: "Sir, my server is down, can you take a look?" Me: "Sure, please stand by while I give it a Tuxford." Customer: "Dude!"
...
"You are going too fast! Wait five minutes and try again." - it has been, dangit!
