Hello Capulers and especially explorers.
ill keep it short: Point is Cosmic signatures respawn with the daily server down. So same time each day. One signature can only be scanned once -> whos online first gets the $$. Now there are people in one timezone which work at daylight some who dont, and some who dont work at all. Guess who can do exploration and who cant ^^ Now there are people which live in different timezones a majority of thos works from morning to afternoon ;o) see where this leads?
Not got a problem with those who dont work if ur feeling like dedicating yourself to a game: DO IT! (and be better in the game thru the effort u put into it). However the use of a feature shouldnt be restricted by the place you life if you can avoid it. For latencys in diffrent regions well ... **** happens. For pure ingame mechanics -> fail!
So please make the Cosmic signatures of all kinds respawn lets say every half hour -> hour to give equal chances to all ^^.
ty for getting the point and seeing its not fair in the current way ^^ yes eve is a harsh world ^^ but it shouldnt be harsh to a whole timezone. |

Cosmic signatures respawn immediately after despawn. Despawn occurs after a site is complete, which varies for sites.
Point being, sites do not simply respawn at downtime. Sites respawn all day, as long as they're being run. |

Intressting cause when i read it up every info page seemed to claim they respawn at downtimes O.o most people ingame told me the same ^^ and i personally also think i find more after downtime (but that might just be selectional perception)
-if this is true
End of the topic o/

If that were the case, all that shiny loot would be even shinier.
There is some mild truth to the downtime respawn though. If you go to a site and don't finish it, a timer will start. I believe this is 3 days or something like that. After this timer is up, if no one has triggered completion of that site, the following downtime the site will respawn.

I scanned a system at 1900 eve time: no signatures.
Scanned the system again 5 hours later: There was a signature.
The thing about unfinished sites respawning at down time: CCP should fix that. The timer should expire 3 days after activation, during the middle of the day as needed, and re-spawn the site. CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. |

Yes, that might be slightly more fair. However, there are very few sites, other than Grav sites, that get left without getting run and finished for more than 3 days. And due to the way the spawning mechanics work, it's easier to leave it as-is and deal with the 0.1% of "unfair" respawn times rather than spending developer time to redesign the spawning mechanics. |

Spawning only at a single time of day is unfair to over 70% of the working population. If you work one third of the time and sleep another one third, then you only have one third left to play Eve. Subtract from that, eating, chores, grooming etc, then you have even less time. So, for anything to spawn at the same time each day, it is unfair to those that have to work or sleep during that time. All spawns should be either random or spaced throughout the day.
For a solution, break the spawning mechanics into multiple queues (at least 4 and not by type or region, it needs to be as distributed as possible). Then process each queue in turn. Slow the spawning processes to a single thread that despawns re-spawns 1 site at a time and limit or distribute the thread to eliminate a processing bottleneck. -á Reward law abiding citizens. We should never promote sociopathic behavior as a primary mode of interaction. Make a reason for Good people to fight, such as defending their nation. Encourage people to become heros, not villians. -á If you agree with an idea, "Like" it. |

You don't really understand the situation at all do you?
It is a rare occurrence that sites respawn at down time. The OP was misinformed. Read the other posts and try to understand how the mechanics work. |
