Post updated for v 2.4.2 on January 26th, 2010. I am selling my character as I'm not on much and will be playing on my alt Daisy Vinthyn. Any future changes to My POS will be under this character. Original Thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=585203
--------------------------------------
In a fit of sheer boredom I wrote up a Visual Basic program to fit and calculate fuel requirements for POSes. As of this post its on v2.4.2 and has the following features:
* All standard and faction towers (with updated fuel requirements) as of Dominion
* All standard and faction fittings as of Dominion
* Downloading POS information including current fuel levels through the EVE API
* Saving / Loading of one or multiple towers to disk with its own file association
* Saving / Loading of a tower fitting so it can be applied to different towers
* Calculates fuel requirements for one or a infinite number of towers along with isk costs
* Calculates the m3 needed along with percentage of tower space available
* Online and Offline individual fittings to test fitments without removing/readding.
* Exporting of tower fittings as plain text, BBCode, or Excel.
* Full moon location lookup through a offline moon database to tie the CCP Moon ID to your towers actual moon location. Any moon location that cannot be retrieved will have the system name retrieved (for unanchored towers for example).
The program and its source code is available on the Cassandra's Light website:

Those that had ANY previous version (2.4.0 or older) should uninstall it using Add/Remove programs under the control panel before installing this new version. The only requirements to run this software are the Microsoft Dot Net v2.0 Framework (available free from Microsoft's site) and the Windows Installer 3.1 or higher. If you have XP or Vista and do your windows updates you should already have both. Any questions, comments, or problems can be posted here, evemailed to me in game, or emailed to Jonas(AT)CassandrasLight.com.

I've been using this program since it was released (just about) and still love it.
Thanks for being bored, I guess!

All the fitting are loaded in from the fittings.xml file in the programs directory. Open it up in Notepad and you can change, add, or remove any of the fittings until there is a update.

Having the same issue. Awesome program btw To live is to die, and to die is to give life. Thus pain is a form of euphoria.

yeah it appears the site, which is hosted by GoDaddy, was hit by a iFrame virus that affects the html and what not. The database (which contains the site) shouldn't be affected....just have to wipe it clean and put the app back on. I should have a good backup of everything so just some time to wipe and reload.

Yup....this will work in the meantime until the site is back up. I can attest that it's a valid link.

Hello Daisy,
I am Nig C, Member of Project Stealth Squad. I am using MyPOS since I anchor Towers and I am very thanksfull for this great Tool.
At the moment I am playing a bit with VB.net 2008 from Microsoft and EveAi from Eve Development Network.
My first project is an Exporter from EVE-Api to MyPOS-Fitment and the very first releas and source you could find here.
1) Use your Full-api-Key and refresh Characters. 2) Select a character with director-role and refresh Starbaslist. 3) Select a Tower and all anchored Structures, no Towers, in System will be shown. 4) Check Structures you want to Export and push Export selected. 5) Choose Save Folder and File Name. 6) Load stored Fitment in MyPOS to a Tower.
I dont know if I will improve this Project, either if I will hunt bucks and as you can see in my Source I am an Italian-Programmer. Spagetti-Code sucks
But may be you get some inspiration to add a nice litle feature to your great Tool called MyPos.
regards, Nig C

Would it be possible to perhaps add a dps indicator? So you could compare DPS between different sets of guns.

Nig C,
If it is now possible to DL all the anchored structures at a Moon ID I will definitely take a look at doing so. Thanks for the heads up and code.

Sry daisy, it is not possible to get the MoonID of an anchored Structure jet, I think. So, if there is only one Tower anchored in System, it will work fine. If there are two or more towers, then you hopefully have a double screen System
btw, I saw the first buck runin over my code and he made some freaky zeros after import to MyPOS. This zeros are anchored Structures like Bubbles or Containers and stuff

Too bad there isn't a mood id tag on the assets....would be a piece of cake to DL the structures with the tower info.
Gonna post in the technology forum, see if that is a possibility.

Hi Daisy
I have encountered an error in your app and I was wondering what your thoughts on it are. I am using my full API Key and am able to select and download the tower info (I have 2 towers in different systems). My problem is I get an API error when I try to download the fuel status of my POS.
The error I get is "Error getting tower details for tower ID xxxxxxxxxx. Make sure the API you are using is in the same corp(It is) as this tower or try downloading the information again. Details of this error: Object reference not set to and instance of an object.
Any ideas?

volumes of some of the fuels have changed, small and medium towers now can't fit as much time in as they could previously, large towers work out slightly more space/time efficent (in general though, the difference is only hours, nothing significant)
The only thing it means is that if you use the FILL fuel option on a small/medium tower, you will run out of space before filling it, if you use it on a large tower, there will be more space left over afterwards. --------------------------------------

Yeah, haven't been on much but I'll look this over and update it. Been looking for a excuse to start doing some programming in the new Visual Studio 2010 so I think this is my chance. The custom controls library has been update since my last release so that's a second reason.
Not sure on the error message though as I don't get that with the current version. I'll look stuff over anyway, see if there would be anything tripping up the fuel retrieval part and maybe try to feed back a more helpful error (unless thats the one being provided by CCP's API already).

FYI - control tower volume hasn't changed. In my program I have 27500 for small, 55000 for medium, and 110000 for standard. Just looked up a Amarr tower in game and it's the same. Am I missing something?
Also I just ran the program, used a director full use API, downloaded two towers, then downloaded fuel for both successfully. Saved the file with my two towers, closed out, went back in. opened the file, and downloaded fuel again without issues. So if you're still having problems reset your full use API (I've had this happen before). After resetting it wait 15 - 20 minutes and try using the new one.
I'm going to push out a update anyway even though there is no programming changes just because I've upgraded the development platform and the custom controls library....seems a little quicker for me.

Hey, think I ****ed up in my wording...
Specifically, the volume of some of the fuels has slightly changed, with some investigation, I found that:
A large tower can now fit a few more hours total fuel in than previously capable A medium/small tower has lost a few hours max tower filling
The biggest change in volume was Oxygen, but a couple of others changed too, I'll see if I can dig up the old/new figures, all this means for My POS, is that if you use the 'Fill' option in the fuel calculator, you will either run out of space before filling the tower, or have some left over on large towers. --------------------------------------

oh...yeah if the material changed volume then that's a hard coded value, if its fuel required that could be changed in the xml.
