My good m8 was one of those dreads. He lost it while staring at a black screen after his cyno, having never even loaded system, let alone grid. Epic!
-A- plz primary Night Epoch, Raven now plz kthx. Podding me would be lovely, too.
they just orderd the fleets to start on bs's now.. think they ran out of caps to shoot at..
Your request will probably go through soon.

Edited by: Night Epoch on 29/01/2010 00:59:54 Confirming my m8 just got his BS primaried. He couldn't actually move his ship, or activate mods, or right click, or interact with overview.
But he could watch!
I still see black :( Hoping my ship is there to get primaried.
Oh BTW yes, thanks for fixing the lag, CCP. My black screen currently has no lag whatsoever. My friend experienced no lag at all on his black screen when he lost his Moros, either!

Was just able to log in! Woke up in a clone vat.
In all seriousness: GF -A-, well fought, you guys are good sports and a lot of fun. These past few weeks have been good LOLs.
It does, however, slightly suck to lose our capital fleets while our pilots are staring at black screens. Would rather have lost them in a proper fight.

not true, i, and may others, had been staring at a black load screen for a good 20 minutes before atlas showed up. its just amazing that one side was uneffected by lag and one side was totally effected. something about how they were reinforcing the nodes and the jump ins has got to be effecting this. maybe they can look at the differences between systems being jumped in from, but when 90% of losses are losses from never having loaded the system something is seriously wrong.

If you tried to jump in or relog you were ****ed... my connection dropped towards the end and I and many others couldn't log back in. (btw I'm still stuck at the gate and CCP refuses to move me...)
Talking about module lag: We all had this module lag of 30sec-3min. If you don't know how to handle your modules (auto-repeat off, turning guns off manualy, rewarping when guns are stuck and so on) in such a heavy lag situation you're screwed. I don't know how long we were shooting the station but at one point I thought that we'll never finish.
Actually I'm sorry for CVA&friends losses but what did you seriously expect? The same **** already happend in Fountain and in the north...

Confirming that the lag also causes all outgoing gates to have "traffic control" when there's 9 pilots in the next system. Also, I now have one of those annoying sigs.

absolutely untrue.
i bridged in, tried loading the system for ~30 minutes, and it didn't load... so i logged out.
about two hours later i logged in again, in a pod, in my home system, and found out i'd lost a taranis.
lesson?
he who loads grid first, wins.

Nothing has been fixed. TBH it was better when the node DID crash leaving both sides to scramble to relog, at least then there were fights. D-G was nothing more than target practice.
This is unplayable, not worth paying for, and certainly not worth the time investment in anything large scale. CCP should be ashamed of this latest patch and supposed 'fix' instead of sipping the champagne given by those who's only real understanding of Eve is from running missions in Empire. Fleet on Fleet combat has become a joke.
Dying in battle? No problem. Dying while staring at a loading screen? Lame and unacceptable. Staring at a loading screen for an hour then dying more than another hour later having said "**** this, my time is worth more to me" is simply criminal. CCP WTFover? Pull your head out of your fourth point of contact and FIX THE FUNDAMENTAL GAMEPLAY BEFORE YOU ADD MORE FLUFF for the kiddies...

Agreed. The outcome was not in our favor, but it was worse that I didn't really get to engage anyone. It would have been much better if both sides actually got to fight with all the ships they had, even if the outcome would have been the same.
I could have turned of my computer and stared at a wall for 5 hours and gotten the same experience I had in D-G. Thanks CCP, fun game ya got here.

****t kicks off with proviblob bringing ~170 caps (mostly dreads) -A- and friends catch some at one of their poses, and kill some without much much resistance. At this point lagg is more or less non existing even though local is at 1400. Pos getts boubbled by dictors. proviblob caps cyno out.
CCP guy apairs in local with that pimp frig they have. we wave and prais them for awsome server preformance! \o/
Round 2, proviblob caps cynos back in and start sieging SBU(s?) Local goes back up (from 1200~ to almost 1600) Lag/grid load is awfull for some, others dont have much problem at all. and as grid slowly loads with 3-6-15 dreads at a time, they get mawed down by -a- and friends cap and bs fleet.
So far, we got + 60 dreads and +15 carriers killd. for 0 cap losses (as far as we know )
The fight/slaughter is still raging on!
Cheers! Fogy
God forgives -A- Does not.

Why are people calling this a "good fight" again? A fight implies the other side can defend itself, and from what I see in this thread (and on the killboard!) CVA & friends couldn't.

Edited by: Night Epoch on 29/01/2010 07:04:00 It was a "good fight" mostly in the sense that we respect our -A-, U'K, sys-k adversaries and respect their hard fought victory tonight.
But is one side instapopping a dread fleet as it appears on grid three or four ships at a time while their pilots are staring at blank login screens a true "good fight"? Obviously not.

But that's not the story is it? It was your system, you had the territorial advantage. So, why were you jumping in to us? Why did your cap fleet leave and then return to load the grid once more? Why did you all hide in your POS while we killed the stragglers who were outside it (before any lag)?
Don't make it sound as if circumstances crafted your defeat. Poor planning and execution combined with an unwillingness to commit super-caps spelt your doom.

Hard fouahahahahhahaha yeah okay whatever. The fact that CVA made a huge tactical error doesn't change the fact that describing this as a "fight" is silly. Just my two cents.

Logged in right after downtime - roundabout 600 ppl in system. Soon after we departed for battle, now ~1200 in system, my client crashed and i spent the next hours trying to log in again - while having to listen to the ongoing battle via coms. That wasn't that funny if you ask me and not worth any price for sure.

Not pretty what EVE massive warfare is becoming.
200 or so that happen to be on grid and in control of their ship / modules at the time when the lag lock hits and the incoming fleet waits to load have the battle in their hands. The rest are just blind, deaf and handicapped fish in a barrel.
I believe I'll use my 14.95 just sitting at a mission hub docking port with drones deployed and hope that many more will join. Maybe spark up a campfire in local chat. Roast some marshmallows.
Tears of Empire must flow before CCP will notice. They're not going to get the numbers needed to see the problem on Sisi. Get with it peoples!
