Ok so not too long ago maybe 2 weeks I was training to use a proteus / Ishtar the proteus being the faster to skill for exploring wormholes and/or PvP.
Then I sorta wanted to learn to probe stuff out and go on the explore so I bought me an imicus and a sisters launcher + sisters probes. trained to about lvl3 on all known probe skills but not the pinpointing one which needs astrometrics lvl4.
The change in skill was because not alot of my corp was wanting to do PvP so I felt to help more probing would be sweet.
Anyway Ive come to a point where high sec probing is pretty much rubbish Isk/hr wise. Am I wrong? I am training for the helios now in order to cloak my way around low and null sec as well as be a little bit safer in WHs.
I know low/null sec offers much better goodies than high sec but heres my question, is there any places in high sec that are very good for Isk? Ive probed many a very nice kernite/Jaspet/omber roid field in high sec and 1 lvl4 Plex.

Training for a covert to be able to probe in 0.0 sounds cool, but what are you going to do when you actually probe something out. So your reasoning doesn't work tbh unless you're part of the group that holds that space.
In high sec, the best thing to probe for is mission runners, simply salvage their lvl 4's and if you're capable of it (ship/backup wise) try to get the mission runner aggressed to you so you can kill him with a bigger/better ship.

Yeah,hi sec really needs better exploration sites. Hell lets allow moon mining in high sec and seed Dysprosium and Technetium everywhere. The 'Fendahlian Collective' strikes again |

I respectfully disagree.
I think having the higher, more rare items deep in space where it's dangerous to fly makes more sense. To me, it seems in the more densely populated, high sec areas, the saturation of pilots means that there are less resources due to over farming. Furthermore, it seems to me that an empire would like to populate a safer zone where less wormholes and dangerous anomalies appear.
Where deeper in space, more valuable and rare anomolies happen. ________________________________________________ <--- My in-game me. |

Sure that's true, but that leaves the carebears pretty much only with L4's as a respectable income.
They could have added some better exploration sites into highsec to make them at least comparable with lv3's.

Firstly thanks for the replies.
I was hoping to probe out and then go swap ships and do the plex or whatever. Thats what I do now.
I dislike probing for mission runners and taking the wrecks. I know that the wrecks don't technically belong to the mission runner, however They have killed the ships and I personally see it as there right to have the loot and salvage from that wreck.
So im not interested in Ninja salvage.
I think long term plan is to train for the Proteus too and go wormhole hunting for sleepers.
I of course do not expect nice goodies in high sec, but i was wondering if theres any lvl5 [battleship] and above plexs in high sec? Is there anything of significant value to be gotten out of high sec probing [0.5 and above]
