Not sure if this has been thought of or not.
But perhaps a Module vs. Module comparing system. In that, You have two of the same type of module, and you can comepare them in a certain window.
Example:
Neutron Blaster Cannon II Rate of fire - 7,875 s. Optimal - 6.3 km. Falloff - 10km. Damage Mod. - 4.2 x (-.175) Powergrid - 2363 MW. (+113) CPU - 61 tf.
Vs.
Shadow Serpentis Neurton Blaster Cannon Rate of fire - 2,875 s. Optimal - 6.3 km. Falloff - 10 km. Damage Mod - 4.375 x. (+.175) Powergrid - 2,250 MW (-113) CPU - 61 tf.
You get the idea.
This could be an interface within the game, just for easy ship fittings and such. So you could perhaps compare Meta 4 level mods with tech II, or with faction etc.
The 'better' of the two Values could be displayed in green, and the worse in red, to show which module is better in certain aspects.
Any thoughts or ideas on this?

FYI: There is this awesome "Compare" button in the bottom bar in the "Variations" tab.

Would this be different to the compare screen already available when you to into the Variations tab and hit the Compare button to select the attributes you wanted to compare?

They should improve the UI of that feature.
